This weekend, I had the first party at my new place.  It was soooo much fun.  Best of friends AM and JE were in town with their kiddies; they were all staying with me at my new Beverly Hills casa.  I decided to throw a casual “Taco Night ” party for them and 40 of my family (sis DS, cousins etc) and dearest and best L.A. friends (BN, SN and more).  The party went off flawlessly, except for the fact that I was in the shower when guests arrived! The taco guy was a hit and so was the house!  It was so much fun finally having a place to call home and to invite everyone whom I love the most!

So, the scoop on the house….I moved into the house exactly three weeks ago.  Wanted to give you a tiny glimpse at the before and after.  I’ll do a big reveal later.  When I first saw this three bedroom, two bath Spanish style home in the canyons, it was desperately in need of a makeover and lots of brightening up.  I turned to premium paint company Benjamin Moore for my colors.

I have no intention of remodeling a kitchen any time soon BUT that doesn’t mean I can’t admire all things that have to do with making a kitchen beautiful.  Earlier this week, I shared a cute kitchen from a hip Hollywood home for sale.  Today, am still musing about kitchens but this time it is all about backsplash tiles.  So many things to think about in a kitchen…cabinets, appliances, color, lighting AND perhaps one of the most important decorative touches is the kitchen backsplash.

Even if you live in an apartment or a rental that you do not want to renovate…there are options.  North Carolina based Mirth Studio, where I have a collection of COCOCOZY wood floor tiles, makes cute peel and stick tiles that can be used and then peeled off when you move out!  There are options.

That being said, here is my complete tile guide to 41 kitchen backplash tiles…(thanks to intern Henna K for her help with this one)…here goes…

This kitchen at 736 N. McCadden in Los Angeles has got “it”.  It is a brand new kitchen in a home for sale in Hollywood.  The home was designed by Los Angeles developer/designer Steve Jones of Bettershelter along with the design team of ModOp Design.  The home is on the market for $1.85million…and the open floor plan kitchen in the jewel of the house.  Jones and team are known for expertly rehabbing Los Angeles area homes and then giving them a hipster California vibe.  This kitchen has just that.

Happy Monday. I am headed into the office and all I can think about is being outside and enjoying the warm weather!  This weekend I was running around…pre-move.  My furniture has been in storage for months so I have forgotten what I have and I don’t have.  In the new place, I have two patio areas to “furnish”…so now I a need to remember what I had at my little tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills by way of outdoor living and search from new seating.  The houses couldn’t be more different. My new place is a Spanish Beverly Hills bungalow with a saltillo tile courtyard and all. Don’t know if my old outdoor decor will work but it will have to.  The space is much bigger so I’ll need just one more cute seating area. Lucky you dear readers…you get to go on a search with me today for the best outdoor armchairs!  Here we go…

So, if you follow me on Instagram… you know… I have been making more noise than any normal person does about a vacation. I guess I must have needed it! I basically chronicled my life in a minute by minute instastories string of video (which meant anyone I was with was constantly being shushed or pushed off to the side to prevent ruin a shot for Instagram… clearly a lack of instamanners on my part!).

Anyhooo… now I am back and will tell you all about it… starting with my own Paris travel guide… really just a list of things I did while in the city of lights.

5 Fun Matcha Mixed Drinks

July 12, 2017

Last year, when I was on vacation with some friends, our friend MR spent the entire time drinking match tea.  MR, a busy New York mother of three,  had a special designer leather wrapped cup with a metal straw and spent the whole the whole vacation either tending to her kids or sipping her matcha tea.  She seemed a little jumpy the whole vacation and then the next time I saw her she had given it up on the matcha because it was a little too much. Matcha is finely ground green tea that is supposed to have some sort of nutrition benefits.  It is a trend, a craze and for some a way of life.

So the other day I was out to dinner at the Soho House here in West Hollywood with the COCOCOZY team and I discovered a new Matcha Sour drink they had on their menu…I had two of them…it was a thick green concoction that was super delicious…after I too was a little jittery…but I loved it!  Matcha mixed drinks, matcha tea…matcha matcha matcha…here are recipes 5 fun matcha mixed drinks you can make for your next summer party…

I am in Paris right now and this evening I leave for Greece.  So far, my summer vacation has been wonderful.  I got to Paris on Friday to visit my sweet mother at her beautiful summer apartment in the 6th arrondissement on Rue Condé.  Best of friend AT came via the Chunnel to spend time with me here.  Then on Sunday, I took a whirlwind day visit to London with AT. I got to see where she lives with her boyfriend HH and we also were on a top secret mission doing some market research!  Came back to Paris for a few more days of lounging…and then off to Greece to meet sis DS and her guy in Athens then Santorini!

All this to say…I have dreams of being a light packer.  And that is what this post is about.  I, however, in all honesty, did not pack lightly!  I wish I had.  I am now bogged down with a huge bag but I am just wearing the same 10 things over and over again.   In order to help you avoid my packing mistakes, we pulled together 10 summer vacation essentials to help you for your holiday travel!

This is my bestie AM’s guest room in her summer Hamptons home.  Totally on trend. Right?  AM was ahead of her time two years ago when she decorated this space with it’s tropical leaf print textiles – a pattern that is so ubiquitous today!  I just shared top palm frond and banana leaf print styles from the world of fashion and decor last week…now here is that look at this trend in full swing in a cute East Hampton guest room.  Love this room…this is where I stay when I visit East Hampton.  It is bright, cheerful and feels like vacation…I also love that she has added a COCOCOZY Logo Throw into the decor too!  Here’s a tour…
