Perfect Printed Dresses

April 20, 2017
  • Share

This post has been sitting in my inbox for awhile.  Not real confident about pictures of me on the blog but since our mission here at COCOCOZY this year is to include a little more about fashion and style, you will see a little more of me from time to time.  This year we are happily focused on ALL things style and lifestyle (decor, entertaining, fashion, art, travel) – bringing pretty inspiration to you and hopefully giving you good ideas for all aspects of your life.   (BTW…I say “we”, because I have a small little staff  helping me at our small little offices in Beverly Hills with all things COCOCOZY including the blog and product line).

Okay…for today’s post we are exploring a few perfect printed dresses.  Here’s why.  I would not say I dress in a drab way…but I do kind of dress in a drab formulaic way when it comes to pattern and color.  I get into a routine. Solid colored pants pants/or jeans, solid colored top, khaki jacket, black Rag & Bone open toe booties is a kind of staple…or a solid colored dress, solid green skirt, solid blue jumper.  Lately, I have been mixing things up with a top of a different solid color, maybe a stripe here or there, or switching out the shoes for a pair of YSL sling back heels or some cute Aquazzura sandals.  Then came this dress pictured above….

Kate Spade Berber Stripe Shirt Dress

The first picture is me in a Burberry dress I bought about a year ago.  I have worn it three times to work.  A man who sits in the office a few door down from my office says every time I wear it, “I like when you wear color.  You always wear solids.  You look good in color.”  He says it in the nicest of ways and is NOT at all creepy.  He has now said that exact thing three times whenever I wear this dress.  I think he is trying to say that he likes when I wear prints instead of just wearing solid colors.  He is reacting to seeing me in some texture as opposed to a safe solid monochromatic work outfit.

Today I celebrate prints!  In my year of doing differently, I am seeking out fashion and style that is a little bolder than my norm…pushing myself out of my fashion comfort zone into something new.  If you are in a fashion comfort zone, you should try it too.  Why not do things a little differently…?

Here are some perfect printed dresses I am loving right now!

More from the COCOCOZY Design House! An upstairs bathroom. Was so excited last week to see this bath featured on House Beautiful’s site. White subway tile contrasted with black slate mosaic tile on the floor. The light fixture was initially specified for the foyer of the home but I liked the way it looked in here. I added some decorative molding around the wall mirror and tah dah...high constrast small bath! Thanks to design house partners @totousa deep soaking tub and plumbing fixtures. @caesarstone counters. @lampslus light fixture. @benjaminmoore white walls. 📷: @reidrolls

Things are bright and cheerful inside the COCOCOZY Design House thanks to all the @benjaminmoore Super White OC-152 painted walls. Here’s a glimpse of the dining room before and after the paint. Oh what a difference some paint makes! Swipe left to see the before. BTW don’t you love the decorative grill on the HVAC return. I had to have this made to make an air/heating exhaust look good! 💃🏾Tap profile link for full break down on my paint colors in the house.

Here is the COCOCOZY Design House kitchen as featured on House Beautiful’s website. To see more of the house check out my IG feed or tap profile link for blog post about the @housebeautiful reveal. Love this view of the kitchen. We built this massive arch between the dining and kitchen where there used to be a tiny door only! The kitchen is super functional and pretty. Did the two toned cabinetry thing and the farmhouse sink from @kohler. So funny 5 of the 9 COCOCOZY Design House partners products happen to be in this small vignette! [email protected] - counters. [email protected] - kitchen sink/faucet. [email protected] - lighting
[email protected] - dishwasher
[email protected] - paint (Silent Night lower cabinets, Super White upper)
Everything including the kitchen sink makes this my dream kitchen!

So thankful and grateful for this. Tap profile link to head to their site to read the story by @candacebd. This is the living rooms the house! Will share details about this room and the whole house over the coming weeks! By the way, it took an amazing village of people who helped make this happen! @almostanythingi @parkerjersey @daledaleyo @anabel.bostedt and to my amazing house remodel mentor SFJ of @bettershelter! Back balcony is looking good thanks to partner @cementtileshop! For today’s COCOCOZY Design House update, it is all about the back balcony of my 1930 Spanish Colonial Revival in the View Park area of Los Angeles. Swipe left to see the before! You should see the balcony now with a little seating and some plants added in. It looks good. I picked this quatrefoil tile pattern because it compliments the home’s architectural style and colors. I also thought tiling the balcony floor would make a fun trend moment in the house. One more thing, for the balcony wall, I had my COCOCOZY “Gate” textile pattern made into cement wall grates! So happy with the way this little bit of personalization makes this outdoor space work. Tap link on profile to see the balcony from every angle! Soon I will also reveal how it looks now that it is styled!
