April 9, 2020
  • Share

Have you ever seen the stunning assortment of dining room banquette seating out there? I’ve recently become fascinated with the design idea! I saw one image and then I kept seeing banquette seating everywhere. The great thing about this design idea is that it can be translated to match any design aesthetic or color palette. Get ready because these designs are ready to inspire and I can’t wait to share them!

First is a quaint home packed with style and an adorable dining room banquette seating area. I love the soft grey corner sofa seating paired with a white table and warm wood chairs. The color palette is divine. Plus the small gallery walls add a stunning amount of color and dimension to the space.

This dining room is french country chic in the best way. I love the green sofa with a super high back in contrast to a small circular table. The beige walls look amazing with the black window frames and warm wood chairs. This is a great example that dining room banquette seating doesn’t have to wrap both sides of a corner wall.

Next up is a space that is luxe and professional looking. This sofa looks like a restaurant booth with beautiful tufted leather and warm wood accents. The black table and flooring balance well with the white + black painting and the white walls. That bookshelf adds a nice dash of neutral tones and visual interest thanks to all of the trinkets.

This banquette seating screams luxe and sophisticated. I’m in awe of the detailing on the ceiling and love the soft grey/blue coloring of the sofas. The white and beige tones in this space keep it open and bright. I love that in this case, the sofas look like real sofas that where beautifully integrated into the room.

Next up is a vibrant and cozy looking space. This seating area is packed with color, pattern, and texture. I love that this space really just feels like a living room. The combo of the sofa and chair create a cozy feeling. Plus those throw pillows add the perfect dash of color. I’m a big advocate of these dried plants in the corner as well.

This dining room seating area is packed with traditional style and bursts of orange and blue. The contrasting colors are balanced with white, beige, and dark brown. The L shaped sofa is a perfect fit for this space and I love how large the table is. Plus who could forget about that incredible in wall shelving.

Now we have a super glamorous and quirky sitting area. This example of banquette seating is dripping with style. The purple sofa and pink-tinted chair look beautiful together. The glass table and chandelier both add a shiny + glossy feeling that finishes up this space nicely.

This is a moody and cozy seating area packed with style. I love the dark walls and white framed windows in contrast to the warm orange toned curved sofa. Plus these lighter wood tones add a nice beige feeling to the space. I’m a big advocate for the white light fixtures to keep this space feeling bright.

Now, this sitting area is positioned under a wonderful skylight and looks so serene. The red and white striped “sofa” bench gives off a casual and cool feeling. The floral chairs add a fun addition of print and color. The artwork adds a nice darkness to the space that creates a moody and cozy addition.

Talk about windows! This sitting area brags having a full wall of windows and a brilliant amount of sunlight. I love the casual feeling of this light grey sofa bench. The throw pillows are a nice addition for color and comfort. The warm-orange wicker chair adds an interesting shape to the space. This feels like a wonderful family home!

This sitting area feels like a work of art that belongs in a museum. The yellow and white striped sofa is a beautiful combo and the wall of windows is incredible. I love the small table and the interestingly shaped chair. The addition of the pillows and lamp help make this space feel like a home.

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming
“Be patient with yourself it has been a funky fe “Be patient with yourself it has been a funky few months in the world.” My friend Manon texted this advice to me today. She is right. A little patience and a lot of kindness to yourself and to others during these unusual times will go a long way.

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
