Maison de la Luz is an incredible New Orleans hotel. It’s equal parts quirky, bold, and luxurious. It’s hard to believe that this space had a complete renovation. Atelier Ace took charge of rehabilitation while Studio Shamshiri tackled design. Exploring this hotel is a treat! Such a breathtaking blend of styles, colors, and patterns.
The exterior of this hotel is simply grand! The bright exterior, columns, and black windows blend together beautifully to create jaw-dropping curb appeal. The molding and columns really add a luxurious feel to the exterior without being over-the-top.
A GRAND ENTRANCE
The entranceway of this hotel is very ornate and detailed. I love the combination of modern pieces mixed with more traditional styles. The light fixture and striped wallpaper keep this space vibrant.
Next up is a very unique space. The concierge desk is covered in a rich dark teal with pops of brass and gold. The black and white marble wall frame the desk with ease and the checkered floor adds coolness factor to the space.
Just when you think the entranceway of this hotel couldn’t get any better – it does. This space has a beautiful blend of old and new to create a quirky and fun wall.
The stairway is simply stunning. This area looks straight out of a very luxurious hotel in Paris. The light striped wallpaper adds the perfect amount of lightness to this area.
TASTEFUL SEATING AREAS
Next, is one of the quirky and electric common spaces. This room is so different from the entranceway yet, it blends color and refined style beautifully. The yellow and green booth is an interesting color combination that is working.
The other side of this sitting area keeps the yellow theme going while adding a few refined touches. The dark wood liquor armoire adds a formal feeling to the space while the bright painting and printed rug add some quirk.
A BOLD COMMON AREA MEETS UPSCALE STUDY & BAR
The next common area is packed with color and bold design choices. The red walls, ceiling, and curtains are an unusual choice that is a breath of fresh air. The cool-toned furniture balances the red perfectly.
The velvet furniture adds a plush luxe factor to this room. The carpet is an interesting combination with a mix of furniture and red. The addition of a plethora of bookshelves creates a cozy study feeling.
This study-meets-sitting-room takes a turn by the addition of a bar. This bar is packed with design. The coolness factor keeps the design from being overwhelming.
DINING IN BLUE
Next up is the dining space that dreams are made of. This lushly blue space is impeccably designed and waiting to invite guests in. I’m in awe of the tiled walls and velvet booths.
This view of the dining room beautifully captures this mahogany table. The addition of warmth finished out this color profile. The blue window frames are the best detail to complete this room.
PARISIAN INSPIRED SUITE
The rooms in this hotel take a much more minimalist approach than the common areas. The Parisian influence is very clear through the rooms. The simple furniture selections and white walls create a chic and calming space.
The extremely high ceilings and wall design create a nice emphasis in this room. I’m obsessed with this blue headboard/bedframe! It looks stunning with the soft purple, white, and dark furniture.
The sitting area in this room is so glamorous! The curtains, couch, artwork, and light fixture create a fun and refined feeling. This space is so grand!
A BATHROOM FIT FOR AN HEIRESS
Last up in this amazing hotel is a bathroom ready to inspire! The warm mirror and light fixtures create the perfect accent to this amazing vanity. The multi-colored tiled floor adds the perfect rush of color.
This bathtub is sensational! From the windows to the curtain this space is framed to showcase this tub. The silver hardware adds the perfect touch of shine.
Last up is the shower. This space feels very serene and relaxing. The blue and white pottery adds a unique touch of art to this space.
