11 Stunning Vaulted Ceilings

March 28, 2017
  • Share

So…if you are following along on my instagram account you will see that I am currently vacationing in the Dominican Republic!  It is lovely here.  I am staying at my friend’s boutique resort, Playa Grande Beach Club.  It is a charming spot right on the water with beautiful ocean views and amazingly charming architecture.  One of the things all of the house here have are amazing vaulted ceilings.  High ceilings make even the smallest space feel light and airy and grand.  Note to self, find a house with vaulted ceilings.

Here are 11 stunning vaulted ceilings for your viewing pleasure!

How Much Does It Cost To Vault A Ceiling?

The standard price range to vault a ceiling in your home is anywhere from $5,000 to $38,000 depending on the size of the room. An estimation for an 11 to 12-foot ceiling in a 20 by 20-foot room ranges between $18,000 and $25,000. Before you start thinking about starting a DIY home project, it’s best to contact a local professional to get the best estimates.

What Are The Best Ceiling Paints?

Ceilings infrequently need repainting, so choose your color wisely, whether it’s matching the room or a bright white to enhance the space. Some of the most popular ceiling paint colors are:

Claire Ceiling Paint – $49

Waterborne Ceiling Paint – $59

Glidden Grab-N-Go Interior Ceiling Paint Flat – $26

Does a Vaulted Ceiling Add Value?

Vaulted ceilings are an architectural technique to make a home feel more expansive. A vaulted ceiling can make the space feel wide and give the illusion of more open space. They are common in living room, kitchen, and bedroom designs.

I don’t think high ceilings can ever be considered a bad thing…right?  Who wants low ceilings?  Not I!

Happy Tuesday!

A well-designed bunk room isn’t just for kids. It’s about making every guest feel like they got the best bed in the house. Built-in storage, thoughtful lighting, and bedding that actually makes you want to climb up top.
Save this for your next build or renovation inspo and follow for more. 🖤

This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎 This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎
Designer Ashley Montgomery layered reclaimed wood beams, brass hardware, and deep walnut millwork against soft plaster walls, and somehow every single room still feels calm. The olive built-ins in the living room, the arched oak doors, that brass shower enclosure in the primary bath... this is what happens when someone actually commits to a palette.

How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️
I flew from Los Angeles to Nantucket for a very quick trip and I’m planning to find out.
Beautiful beaches, boats, gorgeous interiors, time with friends and one last little dose of August.
Turns out you don’t always need a whole week to feel like you got away. 🤍
So happy to be visiting bestie @francesgfayard and her husband Calvin and my godson Carter for a little last minute end of summer travel. New England at its best. Day 1 was a beautiful day. 🤩
You are not going to feel motivated every day. AndYou are not going to feel motivated every day. And you don’t have to.
Some days you’ll feel inspired and everything seems to click. Other days, you’ll question what you’re doing and wonder if any of it is actually working.
The important thing is not to mistake a slow day for a step backward.
You can keep going even when the motivation isn’t there. Some days, showing up is the progress.
Save this for the days when you need the reminder. 🤍

The best parts of Paris might not be on your itineThe best parts of Paris might not be on your itinerary. 🇫🇷
Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.
So if you’re planning a Paris trip, don’t fill every hour. Leave room to wander.
