The glam rooftop pool at the Soho House in New York City on a Sunday morning at 9:00a! (above)
“No photos allowed!…”, a woman exclaimed as she dashed towards me with an arm outstretched in a full Heisman trophy-like block. Turns out this woman was the “pool scene” hostess at the posh private club and boutique hotel known as the Soho House. Too late, I had already snapped a photo (the one above).
That’s the way my day started off a few Sundays ago in New York. One photo. No context. That’s the way my day continued a few Sundays ago in New York.
In a very inconsistent manner throughout that sweltering weekend day, without quite knowing where I was (because I allow myself to be dragged around New York by the people I am spending time with…without asking where I am)… I snapped a photo here…I snapped a photo there…I was glared at here…I was smiled at there…snap, snap, glare, glare, smile, smile, snap, snap (will stop, I’m sure you get the picture)…as I strolled through the city on a blazing hot day.
Some of these photos are random…some might inspire you to think of design and decor ideas (colors, shapes, textures etc.)…some might even make you smile…here is what I bumped into during my Sunday city stroll…

A dashing and designing NYC dog named Maddox poses – this brown, black and white Papillon is owned by A.Ro. and is a very pampered pooch! Love the storage boxes and the antique fireplace screen behind him. (above)

Do you know who makes those storage boxes in the last picture? I’m looking for some great looking large storage boxes and these are great!
Love your blog!
I didn’t realize that West Elm had those medallion curtains. I’m considering one panel for a glass door in my bedroom that faces my entryway which is also glass. I have Madeline Weinrib’s chocolate and raspberry medallion cotton rug. I must have a thing about medallions because I was attracted to this as well.
I’m really enjoying your blog. I’ve become fascinated with home design in the last year and am working on doing a mini makeover for my one bedroom rental apartment.
Thanks again!
Nancy
Hi Nancy. Glad you are enjoying COCOCOZY. Please send in photos of your mini makeover! Would love to see!
I have thoroughly enjoyed your East Coast adventures, Coco. I’ve been working 60/wk and you made me feel like I’ve been on vacation myself. I even miss the dog Maddox now.
Thanks for your fun spirit and great eye for spotting simple beauties in plain view out there in the world. The normal eye (as in myself) would miss a lot until being led and having it pointed out as you do for us.
Couple of things:
1. For Anonymous – A.Ro. got the storage boxes behind Maddox the pampered pooch at West Elm about three years ago.
2. For Arlene – Thank you for your nice comments. I am glad you are enjoying!
