Berry Oscar de la Renta – My Fashion Week Fave

Oh New York Fashion Week is over. Although I wasn’t running around to the gobs and gobs of fashion shows all over Manhattan, I could feel the buzz all the way over here on the West Coast. Exciting! Right?

In the greater scheme of things, I wonder, why is fashion or design for that matter even really worthy of a comment? Am I making much ado about pretty things – clothes, furniture, accessories and more. The answer is probably yes. You might say, “Yes, Coco the design, style and fashion blogger spends way too much time gawking at things, style, places that she thinks are nice.” i would say that design and style are important because they are a form of individual expression. No two people express themselves through their style the exact same way I would argue. So, really, my examination of all things design is really an anthropological study…? Hmmm…. Stretching…I know… I digress. Excuse me as I try to justify the thousands of hours I have spent ooohing and aaahing and sharing the things I think are nice and celebrating those who have made style choices that I like.

Anyhoooo….back to NY Fashion Week. One one of those days last week, designer Peter Copping revealed the latest Winter 2016 clothing collection for Oscar de la Renta. I like the vibe and colors. I loved all of the shades of berry on display. Evening gowns, dresses, skirts, pants, sweaters in different shades of rosy pink. Girly pieces with some fantastic structure to them and a bit of classic playfulness. Who wouldn’t want to wear one of these lovely gowns to a black tie gala?  Or the jaunty hot pink skirt, royal blue sweater and light blue fur like collar?

Love that even the designer himself has berry color socks on as he takes his bow on the runway.

A collection to look forward to in the Fall most definitely!

P.S. Do you like this Oscar de la Renta Fall/Winter collection? Too much color or just right?

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
