Dining room tables have been on our mind lately as my boyfriend TE and I work on remodeling the house we found in Malibu over a year ago. Although our move should be just a few months away, we have paid little or no attention to how we will furnish the nearly 4000 square foot house on a hill with ocean views. We do however have two dining room tables!
While on a business trip with a detour in France, TE sent me pictures of few very unique modern tables in Paris that he had found. I did a quick search on the internet and found that we couldn’t get the tables he was seeing here and on a second visit to the store just hours before he was headed home…TE purchased a table for one of our dining spaces. I say one of our dining spaces because we may have two pretty nice dining areas in the house. I think it should go in the casual dining nook off the kitchen…he thinks it should go in the main open living room dining room area…hence I think the debate is still on on which dining space this table will go in yet…the he said she said of merging our design styles. The purchase was fast and furious. We had long back and forth that involvd extensive chat and texting about style (the style of the house we are building is modern with rustic/industrial touches)…and then finally after hours of considering and then agreeing it was the right move, TE went back to the store bought an industrial wood and steel table that is currently on a boat headed across the Atlantic and then being shipped by truck to us here in California. Woohoo! Dining room table of the check list…now we just have everything else to go!
Anyhooo…the quick fire table purchase put me on a rushed hunt for modern dining room tables in metal & wood.
Thought I would share a few amazing finds here for your dining room table hunt!
Our table is the one at the top. One of my favorites is also the John Beck Steel table. Dreamy!
Happy Wednesday!

Fantasitc tables! Thank you for great inspiration.
Oh my good gawd — I ADORE the Bix table!!! To the end of the earth. I just love the angle, the chunky-but-not-too-chunky legs, the simple elegant top. WHAT is not to love?
Seriously must say these are amazing..!! Aero Oval Dining Table is my favourite of all. Lucky me to stumble upon your site.I have book marked it for later reference 🙂
I really love the design of John Beck Steel”s Wood and Steel Table. It has a powerful presence. Granted I doubt I would ever be able to afford a high end table, but a girl can dream.
