The Bridgerton drawing room and morning room was created by set designers. While much of the show is shot on location in historic homes and locations in England, the Bridgerton living room was created just for the show. Production Designer Will Hughes-Jones and Set Decorator Gina Cromwell created the now iconic set design of the room. Silvery blues and greys, classic Regency era furniture, damask wallpaper, grand drapery and multiple seating areas and vignettes are all part of the room’s patina.
We went on.a hunt to find rooms designed in this century that evoke the same Bridgerton vibe.
Modern Bridgeton-inspired blue living room
This modern take on the Bridgerton family’s living room area gives such a luxurious feel to it. The designer, Steven Gambrel, really outdone himself with this Greenwich Village apartment. The long drapes, matching the color of the wall, give the illusion of the room having a taller ceiling. Like the Bridgerton’s living room, it makes the whole place look much more grand. Additionally, the shades of blue and gold scattered around the room add dimension to the space. It also does a good job of making it appear more luxurious.
Dark blue Regency Era-inspired living room
This room by Alison Pickart perfectly captures the design characteristics of the Regency Era. From the dark heavy woods to the curved doorway, everything about this living room screams luxury. The curved coffee table and lamps add a touch of modernity to this room. This is done without overpowering it or taking away from the Regency-style designs.
Bright modern Bridgerton-inspired living room
This bright blue living room is very on theme for a modern-day Bridgerton-inspired living room. The bright blue walls, matched with the chairs and carpet help bring the room together. The touches of red scattered across the room help give the room more dimension and pop. The designer of this room, Sheila Bridges, does an amazing job bringing cohesiveness and moderation to this room. This living room is what I imagine the Bridgertons’ living room to be like if set in the modern day.
Colorful Bridgerton-style living room
This is Shonda Rhimes’ NYC apartment. She is the creator of many iconic shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Bridgerton. Shonda definitely knows how to bring her shows to life through interior design. With the help of designer Michael Smith, these designs and decor perfectly reflect the Bridgerton show. From the flowered wallpaper to the bright yellow drapes, this apartment is as close as can be to having a modern-day Bridgerton-inspired living room.
Modern Bridgerton-inspired blue living room
This is another brilliant design that gives a Bridgerton-inspired living room. The sofa at the very end of the living room has such an elegant design. It very much resembles the sofa many of the Bridgerton siblings would sit on when waiting for suitors or just having a laugh. The sofa placement right in front of the giant window panels creates the illusion of a bigger room with high ceilings. On another note, the blue and gold ceiling designs also add an extra touch of elegance and luxury to the room without overpowering it. This subtle addition to the room is a great way to make the space look expensive.
With the new season of Bridgerton out, I couldn’t help but create room design and decor inspirations. Many of these are super modern and easily recreated. Imagine dressing up and entering a room like the ones I’ve shown above. Immerse yourself into the modern-day Bridgerton living room. Which of these Bridgerton-style blue living rooms do you like best?
