CEMENT TILE KITCHEN

November 15, 2013

Modern kitchen with cement tiles, brass accents, black cabinets, subway tile backsplash and built in bookshelves

Love this kitchen!  Cement tiles, brass accents, black cabinets, subway tile backsplash, and amazing built in bookshelves.  A totally modern kitchen with a vintage warm style.  Love the stand alone turned wood leg table that acts as a kitchen island and the built in window bench seat.  Perfection.

Found this in interior designer Jessica Helgerson’s portfolio.  Nice work.

To me the biggest statement in the room comes from the floor.  I am obsessed with decorative cement tiles lately.  I’ve ordered some samples for a project I am working on.  You can see them later today on my Instagram account @cococozy.  I love the idea of a rich pattern on the floor.  It creates so much texture and depth to the room.

What do you think of this kitchen?  Any elements you like?

Happy Friday!

I love everything about this kitchen. Black cabinets, Moroccan tile, interesting island, beams, sitting area. Love, love, love. The tile that you picked may be the same that I was thinking about using as my backsplash when we redo our kitchen. Thanks for the fabulous tour!

yes -i love this trend. These concrete tiles are known as ‘encaustic’ and were used in early spanish houses – especially in tropical places like Cuba and are associated with them. The patterns, even the old ones, still look so modern and fun!
