Moroccan lanterns. Love this ceiling lighting. These Moorish pendant lights are great because of their cutwork metal designs and the fantastic shadows and patterns they cast when illuminated.
Traditionally these metal chandeliers are made from brass in a variety of finishes (antique brass, polished brass, silver plated brass or bronze colored brass); however, they can come in different metals including aluminum.
Here are two lamps styled by Morocco in today’s CHEAP TO CHIC! (although I do think both are cheap and both are chic)
Anthropologie – Casablanca Lantern – $398 (Inspired by the traditional hundi lights from Morocco. Filagree vines and lush leaves cut work pattern. Aluminum. 60 watt max. 29″H x 10″ diameter. Imported)(above)
Pieces – Brushed Metal Lantern – $595 (22″h x 8.5″d. Silver plated brass. Cut work. Chain and canopy included.) (above)
I was at a Moroccan party last weekend the host had the most incredible lamps! I posted some pix earlier this week.
I found a great brass Moroccan lamp for about $3 at a thrift shop. I put little votive candles in it and it just flickers away.
The lanterns are great but what caught my eye was the side table and pagodas in shot #1….A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!
Both of those are really great – I especially like the Casablanca Lantern 🙂
