Mecox Gardens – Parks Blue Velvet Arm Chair – $3000 (Peacock dark blue velvet chair with wood legs and pewter nailhead trim)

Good solid chair…love the nail head brassy pewter trim, the blue velvet fabric, and the curved wood legs. Saw it at the home furniture store Mecox Gardens on La Cienega here in Los Angeles.

Perfect for a home office, library or den…right? Would you put in your house?

Great lines, but just not my style. I can’t imagine that fabric in my house.

Beautiful! Thanks for posting this. I’m not usually a huge fan of the pewter nail heads, but love them with the navy velvet. I’m totally inspired to finally change out my own navy sectional. It’s a testament to “getting what you paid for.” The frame cracked (in two places). At least it wasn’t made for a client. I absolutely love its navy linen/cotton, but that too has proved to be a nightmare; it shows EVERYTHING. I’m remaking it in navy velvet with pewter nail heads! I’ll blog about it and keep you posted.

Part 2 - Marathon. So as the saying goes, “if at Part 2 - Marathon. So as the saying goes, “if at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” I will run a marathon. I will hit the road again, train again and I will run. Watch me. Last Sunday, however, wasn’t my marathon day...
I made the best of it nonetheless. If I couldn’t run, I was certainly going to be part of LA spirit and cheer the runners on.
As many may know, I was supposed to be running the Los Angeles Marathon last weekend. After 14 weeks of training and finishing my 19 mile run, I strained a muscle. I went to physical therapy every other day hoping I could still run, but the pain was still there the day before the marathon so I had to call it.
But an injury didn’t stop me from being there. I showed up to Rodeo Drive anyway.
I watched the elite runners fly by, tracked friends, and ended up cheering for three hours. Fast runners, struggling runners, and the later runners still grinding it out.
A friend texted saying she knew the day must have been hard for me. But honestly, it wasn’t. It was just fun, inspiring, and electric.
I will be on the road soon...running a race! Can’t wait!
