COCOCOZY FIND: BRIGHT IDEA FOR A CHANDELIER!

July 13, 2010

Handcrafted iron chandelier covered with encyclopedia print from Anthropolgie
Anthropolgie – High Minded Chandelier – $998 (Floral eco friendly chandelier. Handcrafted out of iron. Covered with encyclopedia print)(above)

Need to read more. Need to try to be smart. Need to focus on worthwhile causes and issues. Need to engage my mind.

On the flip side…need to not get sucked into mindlessness…endeavors like reading InTouch magazine. Need to not watch shows like the Bachelorette. Need to not care whether Kim Kardashian looks skinny or chunky or when Lindsay Lohan is going to jail.

Well…maybe this smart little chandelier would help me with my mind improvement goals. It is a chandelier wrapped in pages from an encyclopedia! Looks a bit like an origami light fixture…like it is created in the old Japanese folk art of paper folding. Do you think this might help me snap out of my frivolity filled stupor?

Well even if it doesn’t make me smarter…it is cute.

Have a nice Tuesday!

P.S. Thanks to some fantastic readers who alerted me of problems with my RSS feed, I have fixed it and I think the feed is now working and doesn’t look so weird…if you want to subscribe, just click on link on right of page.

P.P.S. Summer B., winner of the first giveaway on Facebook, received her linen pillows and loves them. Will do another COCOCOZY FACEBOOK PAGE giveaway when we reach 2000 followers there. Only 50 followers entered the last giveaway…so chances are good to win another pair of linen pillows. Just make sure to follow me on Facebook and tell your friends! 2000 is the goal!

P.P.P.S. One last thing (I promise), you can go to the Cococozy Facebook Page to see pictures and find out how Christine from yesterday’s post designed her own custom upholstered counterstool.

I really like the organic shapes, and the light color. I must admit though, that my least favorite part is the encyclopedia wrap. Its a clever idea, I’ll admit, but I am thinking it might look silly inside my home. It would certainly be a conversation starter though…
I just stumbled upon this chandelier – very similar idea – but its faux coral. Very pretty and natural looking! And less expensive!

You are not going to feel motivated every day. AndYou are not going to feel motivated every day. And you don’t have to.
Some days you’ll feel inspired and everything seems to click. Other days, you’ll question what you’re doing and wonder if any of it is actually working.
The important thing is not to mistake a slow day for a step backward.
You can keep going even when the motivation isn’t there. Some days, showing up is the progress.
Save this for the days when you need the reminder. 🤍

Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.
So if you’re planning a Paris trip, don’t fill every hour. Leave room to wander.

So today, I took my work somewhere else. ☕️💻
A little change of scenery, a different view, a few hours away from my usual desk and somehow the workday felt a little lighter.
I’ve found that working somewhere else can be a nice reset when I’m feeling stuck, uninspired, or just too used to the same routine. It’s not necessarily about being more productive; sometimes it’s just about making the day feel different.
A little workday change of scenery with me. 🤍
Would you take your work somewhere else for the day?

A great parquet floor doesn’t just ground a room. A great parquet floor doesn’t just ground a room. It tells you everything about the history of the space. The patina, the pattern, the way light moves across it. These are the rooms that prove good bones never go out of style.
What’s your favorite parquet pattern?
