Anthropologie – Mechanic’s Beacon Light, Large Flower– $148 (Steel and wood vintage style pendant light. Brown. Takes 60 watt bulb)(above)
Okay…these industrial vintage style pendant lights are just plain old cool. Love them. They look like they could belong in a factory or an old garage OR in a high end chef’s kitchen or stylish city loft apartment. No nonsense form makes for great design.

My born in 1910 Dad would crack up if he saw that his old garage lights were considered ‘chic’. Brought back memories of the musty old storage place for his magic props.
Adorable!
Hi Arlene…funny right…?!?! “Garage Chic” perhaps (hee hee)…a trend started by men like your dad and they didn’t even know it!!! Don’t know if I would call these lights totally “chic” though but I would definitely call these retro kitsch cool! I am also curious to know what other trends your dad may have inadvertently started…any other cool items in his magic props storage place???? Thank you for all of your wonderful comments Arlene! Hope you have a nice day!
These are awesome and I need one now. For serious. So utilitarian chic.

I’m kind of on the fence about these – can’t decide if I really like them. The last one is fun, though – it has a feminine twist.
I think they are awesome!!! I want one for myself:)
The last one is almost exactly the same as the first one, only the bottom of it is open.
The semicircles of wire at the bottom pull open on that style of cage light in order to allow the bulb to be removed/inserted.
It really bothers me that people who aren’t handy or intelligent enough to figure that out are interested in these lights because of “utilitarian chic” or whatever other ridiculous nonsense.
