Coco's Paris flea market find: a set of four grey painted trellis pattern on a white cane back armchairs

Still in Paris!  So phenomenal!  Really. It is!

Went to the Marches aux Puces at the Porte de Clignancourt yesterday – an unbelievable Paris flea market filled with antique and vintage furniture finds. I love Los Angeles but I must say this flea market puts our flea markets to shame. Here there are so many fantastic treasures to find – amazing antiques and collectible pieces! Amazing.

So we were going to try to be adventuresome and take the metro but opted for a nice air conditioned cab instead. The Marches aux Puces is not at all in the center of Paris…it is on the outskirts so it is a bit of ride…and of course we had no idea how we’d get back to the center of town for our 4pm people watching at the famed cafe Les Deux Magots…but we ventured out anyway.

I had my camera out and ready to take photos but when we first arrived, a vintage dress vendor looked at me and waved her finger and then said “Pop, pop, pop”…which was her very French way of saying no photos.  I was then a little timid as I walked through the marches snapping photos…but of course my design determination got me over any shyness and I just asked if I could take photos and most vendors said yes.

Anyhoooooo…saw so many great things…these chairs below are just a few.  Please review and let me know…do you think these are flea market finds or flea market flops?

CHAIR 1

One of the four of four grey painted trellis pattern on a white cane back armchairs

I found this first set of chairs buried behind mounds of furniture in a little shop when we first arrived.  Loved these caned back Louis style chairs in grey and white with a criss cross trellis pattern painted on the caning on the chair back and seat.  The shop owner was not there but his neighbor called him and he quoted us a price of $2300 for the four chairs.  Trops cher (too expensive for me) but I loved them none the less.  Cute idea though…paint caning on a chair and then add a pattern detail on top of that….hmmm…note to self…

CHAIR 2

17th century antique petite barrel side chairs upholstered in a mustard yellow leather like material with a wood side table at the Paris Flea Market

This second pair of chairs was more affordable – around $650 for the pair –  and quite stylish (add about $1100 for shipping of these two chairs and the table).  They were these petite barrel side chairs upholstered in a mustard yellow leather like material.  I contemplated these chairs for quite a bit.  They don’t really go with anything I have…but I loved them.  The owner of this shop said that they were 17th century antique chairs.  Oh dear…should I go back?  They are cute.  Oh no.  Help.

CHAIR 3

A set of 8 painted blue grey cane dining chairs with carved details on the legs

Lastly, a set of 8 cane seat French dining chairs with carved details on the legs.  I liked the blue grey paint on these chairs.  Didn’t find out the price but thought they were quite lovely.

So the question is…would you have shipped any of these chairs home?  Do you see potential in any of them?  If so, where might you use them in your home?  Would be very curious to know.

More flea market finds coming up tomorrow…including an amazing bombay chest!

Happy Monday!

Oh and I do like the barrel chairs …I wonder how much it would be to ship them back home. Do you think they were 17th Century?

I spent one of the best days of my life wandering this flea market. I have several small finds (things I could carry) scattered around my home. Hope to return soon.

Loving the pink velvet upholstered chair and all of the caned chairs. You can’t find pieces like that anymore, it’s a lost art!

Coco, really like the barrel chairs – great color and elegant lines. Not to sure I believe they’re 17th century, tho. Would I ship them? yep.

Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
