So best of friend AM is now redecorating her spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath NYC apartment. 2014-2015 has been the year of decorating for her. She started with totally remodeling and designing her gorgeous new home in East Hampton (click here to see the master bedroom in the Hamptons filled with COCOCOZY fabrics). Now that the weekend house is done, she has turned her focus onto her Soho city apartment. AM shares her home with her lovely family, hubby JE and two amazing kids.
The first area AM is tackling …is this small sitting room right off the kitchen. She is not at all finished but she has got the base design well under way. I wish I had shots of the before. Everything was very nice…in off-white, brown and hints of blue. Remember how Picasso had his blue period…well best of friend is literally decorating in her own blue period. AM loves bold pattern and texture. For years, she was in a pink period. The NYC apartment living room was wonderfully pink. When her hubby JE asked for a brown desk, he was greeted with an “absolutely not”…she painted a metal table pink and for years the 6’2” JE has been quite happy working at the desk – he is a wonderful man who loves his wife and her design choices. AM now says the metal and glass table is going to be painted white…to blend more with the new color scheme…I wonder if the very masculine JE is secretely sighing with relief? 🙂
Gone is the pink and onto blue…this little sitting room is still a work in progress for AM…she is going to add some art, a side table, a cabinet in the corner and a t.v. for the kids to watch.
Oh…but the whole point of this story from my singularly “me focused” point of view is that AM just purchased one of my new COCOCOZY rugs to decorate the space! AM chose a COCOCOZY Lyrical Rug in Indigo blue for her little playful blue sitting area! Buried the lead here!!!
Thank you AM for picking one of my rugs for your living room! So fun to see my rug designs in action in someone’s home…extra special that is in best of friend AM’s home!! Now onto her main other parts of her flat…another seating area…more blue living room design to come from AM I am sure!
Will keep you posted on her decorating progress!
Happy Thursday!

I love love love that coffee table. Although I am a neutral person I am obsessing over this setting. The colour matching is so right and it looks so elegant.

What a great rug! Love her colors. Could you tell us which fabric she used on the chairs? Thanks!
Hi Sarah,
The fabric is Hidden Temple from Beacon Hill – color is indigo.
Thanks! Love this room.
