COLOR WATCH: LILAC BEDS!

June 21, 2011
  • Share
bedroom with a light purple quilted headboard with gold trim, white bedding with gold embroidered detail, a brown throw and a nightstand with nail head trim

Who knew? A trend may be underway…lilac beds? Never had thought about this light shade of purple as an option for a bed or headboard…but it seems that most stylish in the design community are onto this lilac bed trend (namely posh New York interior designers Katie Ridder, Christina Murphy and Amanda Nisbet have all used these lavender like beds in their designs)!

I like it actually…a light purple bed. A lilac bed. Paired with white, light grey or a neutral wall behind it and some simple mostly white bedding, I’m thinking a lilac bed kind of works! Modern but romantic…perfect for a guest room or master suite.  Design for thought…

Elegant minimalist bedroom with an upholstered lilac headboard, white bedding, lavender floor length curtains with graphic printed Roman inspired window scarves

Crate & Barrel – Colette Bed in Lilac – $1699 (Queen bed with light purple linen upholstery and nailhead trim)
Bedroom with white bedframe with purple upholstered head and foot board with link detail trim, white bedding with blue embroidery, a fuzzy blue throw, and blue and white curtains

What do you think of these lilac beds?  Take them or leave them? If you would take a lilac bed, where might it go in your abode?

Happy Tuesday!

Well, I love them. I would have one in my master bedroom that we are in the process of adding on to our home. I am doing polished concrete floors with flowing white curtains, a mix of sleek and rustic so I think a lilac bed would fit the bill. I already have a very large silver/grey one though that I love. Maybe in my next life:)

Isn’t it funny….lilac seems to be EVERYWHERE! I never would have thought of it either, but I kind of like it!

    LOVE!!
I actually just used lilac to cover a cow head in my living room. And would totally do our bed- except the husband would never go for it.

I’m actually really happy to see this. I have these lilac Thomas Paul pillows on the bed, with mostly white bedding, and grey and lilac touches here and there in the room. I’d been wondering if I’d gone off the deep end with that color, but I love it so much!

Great Gallery! It’s quite lovely. Lilac is a colour that creates instant tranquility.. I love it paired with golds and navy.

    Best, Vie

Considering that lilac is one of my favorite colors, I HAVE to say love it. But I would like to see it in a lacquered lilac headboard… now we are talking! Great post!

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
