DESIGN HUNTING IN A HUDSON VALLEY HOME!

Another colorful and whimsical home from fab New York interior designer Ghislaine Vinas. This time she’s designed a truly modern day hunting “lodge” of sorts with a trophy wall and all – but not a real trophy wall :-). The designer and home owner are both animal loving but wanted to have fun with a collection of animal sculptures in this weekend house outside of New York City…so Ghislaine decided to add in fake deer and buck sculptures she found online. Throughout the house, there are different animals and insects popping up in the decor…including an ominous owl over a bed and an electric green snail on a bookshelf!

To make the house even more visually interesting, color also plays an important roll. Ghislaine starts with a neutral color palate of white and greys on the walls but then injects pops of yellow, bright green, red and teal into the home.

Always fun to browse through a Ghislaine designed space…take a look.

For some reason I’m very intrigued by the chandelier in the room with the bunk beds. I am also liking the dining room and foyer…simple, clean with a touch of fun added in.

Which room is your favorite room?

Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday!

I love all of the colors and whimsy! I’m all about keeping our homes fun and not taking design too seriously. Great post!

I like the chandelier with the bunk beds too! I would never have thought of it but I like the contrast!
