FASHION FORWARD: LACQUER IT UP – NAIL POLISH FOR FALL!

Essie's Fall 2011 line of nail polish in Power Clutch, Carry On and Lady Like
Essie’s new Fall 2011 nail polish colors! (above and below)

A design non sequitur today…decor purist please excuse.  I’ll post some design related business after this for you…but those of you who are okay with a fashion aside…here you go…

Love it when I get a cute blog post out of  COCOCOZY textiles related business.

So I had a fab meeting over at MML PR to discuss the COCOCOZY collection. Met with publicists Merritt and Claire who are so nice. They have the cutest offices on Abbot Kinney in Venice Beach (made me long for beach city offices btw). Anyhoooooo…when I walked into the office, a bunch of people were packing gift bags for an Emmy Awards related event…and someone said the word “nail polish” and I must have started smiling and sparkling and thinking, “Oh how fabulous…new nail polish…I wish had some new colors”.  My sparkling, smiling and deep thoughts must have been more obvious than I assumed because after a long conversation about COCOCOZY pillows, throws, candles and me, a nice little bag was delivered into the conference room with the latest Essie nail polish colors for fall 2011!

Score! Woot woot!  Whoa. Yippee!!  I was so delighted to get these six polish colors…for no apparent reason…just thrilled. Silly I know. I can afford nail polish so I don’t need it as gift…but for some strange reason, having my hands on the new fall colors just got me so excited. Beyond excited.  There is something wrong with my POV I know…going bonkers over 6 nail polish bottles?  Who does that?  Me.

P.S. I normally do not even accept gifts (even from my family…my mother and sis have had to give me a lesson in polite gift acceptance over the years because I actually gave a few gifts back to them when I realized they wouldn’t work in my home…ooops…I know…not gracious at all…Emily Post would have been appalled…)…and I definitely do not accept gift bag items – I go to plenty Hollywood events where these are offered and I’ve always declined even the best of the best of the gift bag. Reason is my tiny tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills is so small, I cannot add anything into the mix unless it is planned out. Extra clutter.

Uhmmm…all this to say…this was not the case here. When that little bag filled with latest nail colors arrived…I snatched it up so quickly that poor Merritt and Claire I’m sure were wondering “Where did it go? I think she took it.  What’s wrong with her?”

I think I’ll try the dark green gray color which is called “Power Clutch” first!  Then onto the wine color polish called “Carry On”…and then who knows what else!

Essie Power Clutch nailpolish
Power Clutch nail polish is a dark green the literature says…but I think it almost looks like a gray!  Can’t wait to try it. (above)

From left to right “Cary On”, “Power Clutch”, “Glamour Purse”, “Case Study”, “Lady Like”, “Very Structured” Essie nail colors for Fall! (above)

Any of these colors stand out for you?  What is your favorite fall nail go to color?

Happy Wednesday!

P.S.  So relieved, we are doing a special candle line for a big fashion company – very big company.  Yesterday, we thought the candles would not get to NYC in time for Fashion Week and Fashion Night Out on Thursday!  Fed Ex surprised us and the candles arrived today!  Woohooo…good day.  New nail polish and happy candle customer!  Hip hip hoorah!

See… I bought one of those grey-ish colorsync last Fall, from Chanel, and was totally in to the color! … Right to the time it went on my fingers…. The color was so awful on my skin tone, looked so bad, so be careful 😉
Now i am an essie Girl, pale, pale pink please!

    Hi there,

I’m pretty new to your blog…love your decor and pillow posts…but also enjoy today’s fashion diversion.

The “Lady Like” and “Very Structured” colours appeal to me…classic and pretty without screaming look at me….although that’s the kinda girl I am. However, “Carry on” would look cute on the toes (peeking through studded heeled sandals, of course).

I LOVE Essie! Ballet Slippers is my favorite but I am interested in trying the ‘Glamour Purse’ color – that looks like a great color for fall! I also like Limo-scene and Mademoiselle…and Atlantis Pearl…I’m hooked!!

Beautiful nail colors, you have the most enchanted life! I love hearing about all your adventures… I just wonder how the heck you fit a full time job into all this. I like what you said about not adding things to the mix in you teeny tiny cottage. My cottage is about 1100 square feet, so pretty teeny tiny and I need to remember to plan to bring anything in…. Thank god I have a barn, but that’s for hay for my horses…. now, you’ve got me wanting to do my nails, and, since I’m a farm girl now, that’s just strange… carry on!

I must find a bottle of the Very Structured…love it. I’m also loving Chanel’s Peridot color for fall. It shows golden green to turquoise, and every shade in between depending on the light.

Loving the “Power Clutch”. I’m going more green with Chanel’s “Periodot” when the temps drop.

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
