Today, I thought I would share 7 high design favorites that one of my chicest friends sent to me. Here name is Jennie O. for purposes of this post. She is completely tapped into all things stylish and high culture. I met Jennie and her hubby TO a few years back when we were out with friends. She and I immediately hit it off as we talked about all things design and style. Jennie, being the connossieur of the most stylish and cool cultural things, taught me so much in even our first conversation. Whenever Jennie and her husband and kids come to Los Angeles, we make a great effort to get together. Lucky to have her as a friend.
Jennie has very distinct tastes…very refined. She is from Europe…has lived here in the United States for years…has bilingual children who are studying both English and French and they are 9 and under – and has her own wonderfully elegant point of view. From music, to art, to fashion to home decor…Jennie has “the eye” for all things cultural.
I bring you a must know list from a girl in the know!
JENNIE O’s SEVEN FAVORITE HIGH DESIGN FINDS
1: CORDEMEIJER DAY BED
The Cleopatra Daybed by Dick Cordemeijer for Auping. Made in Holland in 1954. After an exhaustive search worldwide, Jennie O. recently acquired one of the originals of this iconic dutch beds. She scrapped the old foam mattress and is having her own made out of a fabulous fabric of course. Low bench like daybed with very simple mid century lines that are more classic than kitcsh. A fantastic unique alternative to the becoming common Barcelona lounger by Mies van der Rohe. Love this. (TE: maybe we should find one!)

2: PIERRE HUYGHE
Jennie O. recently flew her family down to Los Angeles just for a weekend to see the work of artist Pierre Huyghe that was showing at Los Angeles County Museum of Art. According LACMA’s site “Huyghe creates films, installations, and events that blur fact and fiction, reinvent rituals of social engagement, and use the exhibition model as a site for playful experimentation.” Jennie O. says Huyghe one of her favorite artists! The exhibit has ended and I missed it but next time most definitely.

Which of Jennie O’s finds are your favorite? I want to see La Grand Bellezza but I am obsessed with the PK20 Chair and the Cordemeijer daybed. Going to have to pick Jennie O’s stylish brain for more of her coveted finds next time she is here in Los Angeles. Thank you Jennie!
Happy Thursday!

Coco
P.S. Speaking of favorites – If you look at the top right of the website you’ll see, I’ve devoted a new section just to my favorite things. It is called COCO’s FAVES. Check out and shop a few of my current style and decor finds. Also, see my shopping resource list too!
Coco, I would say my favorites are the artist and the movie, I’ve made a note to myself to research the artist and to watch the movie. When I was in graduate school one of my professors use to have us watch foreign films, ones I would never find on my own and they were always interesting in one aspect or another so I am going to search out the film and watch it (probably on my own as my husband is not a fan of that type of film genre but that’s ok, its not everyones cup of tea!)
Thanks for sharing your friends Favorites!
I do adore that bench! It has style written all over it!
