Outer Furniture Review: One Year After My Patio Makeover

May 24, 2022
  • Share

One of my favorite spots in my home is the upper patio. I gave it a makeover in 2021 after finally having it fixed. It was covered for over a year due to a leak. Now that the one-year anniversary passed, I figured it was a good time for a review of my Outer furniture.

I received three pieces of furniture from Outer including a sectional and two armchairs. My upper patio is a large area so I decided to space out the pieces. The armchairs sat in one corner and the sectional was styled in the opposite corner. Far apart for it to not be too crowded, but close enough for cozy conversations with friends. Read my review below (FYI this is not a sponsored post).

The Pros

After one year, my Outer furniture is in almost perfect condition. The all-weather wicker is durable and hasn’t faded. The wicker hasn’t started peeling, which is always one of my concerns when I buy a new wicker item. The cushions are stain-resistant and water-resistant. I always try to cover the furniture before it rains. Luckily in California, that’s a rare occurrence. It looks as good as it did a year ago. I’m super happy with my outdoor furniture. I think it’s worth the investment if you’re looking to splurge.

The Cons

The cushions are not raccoon resistant (See video here if you don’t know what I’m talking about lol). The raccoon scratched a few cushions, which is a bummer. I’m hoping to get a few replacements from Outer. And if it did rain and I forgot to cover the furniture, I make sure to remove the cushions to help them air dry faster. If you leave them in the sofa, then their sides will still be damp. No one likes to sit down on a wet cushion!

I’m in love with my outdoor space. It’s still one of my favorite places to sit and relax. I get so many compliments from friends and family when we hang out there. Everyone loves the big comfy sectional. Again…this isn’t a sponsored pot, but I do have a 5% off code that’s still active if you want to save money. Use code: COCOCOZYOUTER ! A 90s home in Amman, Jordan, entirely remodelled by local artisans. Neo-Florentine bones, Levant-eclectic sensibility, arched passageways, and a flea-market-meets-commissioned-art collection that makes every wall feel intentional.
What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.

If you only have 10 minutes, focus on these three things:
1. Make the bed. It instantly makes the whole room look cleaner.
2. Fold or straighten the throw blanket and pillows.
3. Clear visible clutter from nightstands and the floor.
That’s it. Those three steps make the biggest visual impact without deep cleaning.

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤

Life when I’m offline. 🎣 On this trip to Park CitLife when I’m offline. 🎣
On this trip to Park City, UT, I was way off line with a little fly fishing. No emails. No DMs. No feed. Just a rod, a beautiful river, and however long it takes to catch something.
Running two brands means my brain rarely stops so when it does, it really does.
No fish were harmed. All fish were returned into the river.
