What a fantastic kitchen. A study in textures and contrast. A brick floor, floor to ceiling subway tile walls, arched encasement windows, open shelving, and an exposed reclaimed wood ceiling all in one. Sounds like it may or may not all work together…but this picture says it all. Rustic, elegant, modern…love.
Happy Thursday!

Luscious! The feeling of warmth in this kitchen is fantastic. The ceiling caught my eye first and thought it was so wonderful to see something so simple yet so elegant on the ceiling.
I love the amount of natural light. That’s a kitchen I’d love to cook in.
Wow! I always loved bricks, on floor and on walls. Its a bright, well lit and elegant kitchen.
This kitchen is really wonderful! Love the brick floor and the open shelving. Love how bright and cozy it looks!

So pretty! I love the contrast the distressed wood brings. Have a lovely weekend!

I love the look of this genre of kitchen – so interesting and airy and ‘useful’ looking. So ‘old-world’ yet modern at the same time. However, I’ve NEVER seen the practicality of hanging pots and pans and displaying cups and bowls and cooking utensils on shelves! In this enlightened age when we are bombarded with messages to “cover when coughing”, “wash hands to help eliminate the spread of germs” etc AND we are encouraged to use personal hand sanitizer all the time………this type of kitchen is a play-haven for germs, and not for me! The picture looks great in a magazine, BUT…………there are huge non-aesthetic issues that designers have conveniently forgotten about when working with food prep.
