Check out this dining room. A bold design statement that on paper doesn’t seem to make sense but as executed makes all of the sense in the world.
Here it is on paper – a traditional room, large white baseboards and crown molding, walls painted with large black and white stripes, a black french style chandelier, a modern looking wood farm house dining table, brushed metal chairs, white wood cabinetry with glass doors, Victorian pressed tin tile bar area and dark wood floors.
There it all is…in writing…here it all is in full color as conceived by a Flickr member ddaarryynn in a Seattle home. A black and white striped dining room! Who would have thought this could work?

A nook was created in the dining room to house a bar. The bar includes a pressed tin backsplash, marble countertops, a wine cooler and reeded glass front upper cabinets.
Z Gallerie – Calais Chandelier in Black – $299 (handblown glass chandelier, takes six (6) bulbs from 60-80 watts) (above)
Tin Man – Victorian style Pressed Tin Tile 6″ patterns – $9 for a 2’x2′ sheet (6″ Designs are great for kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms, halls, backsplashes, behind wood stoves or wainscotting) (above)
Looks great but I feel like there needs to be an area rug under the dining room table…
