Adore The Bowery Hotel in NYC! Just stayed in this fab suite last night (was upgraded from a smaller suite to this). Now on plane (in coach…no upgrade…arghhhh…so much for having 250K miles on this airline…doesn’t do any good it seems…oh boy…) headed back to Los Angeles…after a whirlwind day and half in New York…
An overnight stay with best of friend Anne and husband John and their adorable children, work work work, a work party at the Central Park Boathouse, a dinner with Anne, John and good friends PR, JJ, MC and Amie R. at Gemma and an amazing stay at the Bowery Hotel for the night.
There is nothing better than New York in December…the chill in the air, the sparkling holiday lights, trimmings and windows all over the city. Something so festive about NYC in December. Love it.
Anyhooooo….back to this room….I don’t know why I like this hotel so much but it has this really cool eclectic strange interesting warm vintage vibe to it. I especially love the corner suite I was in last night. Lead glass paned floor to ceiling windows wrap around the room and boast views of the city including the Empire State building! I love the wood floors, the gorgeous rugs, the white painted exposed brick, gorgeous marble and subway tile bathrooms (not shown here), the rusty rustic tones…I love it.
Was so sad to hop in a cab this morning back JFK to go back to L.A. Oh well booo hooo. Hope you enjoy these pics!
Oh two apologies…this morning I must have called security 10 times…I thought I had left a not so valuable necklace in my first room at the hotel (pre-room-upgrade)…after sending everyone on a hunt, I found the necklace in my bag! Yup. The security guy was so nice and just laughed when I told him the unfortunate misplacement on my part. Good natured about the whole thing…oooops. I also apologize for spilling an entire glass of champagne in the hotel lounge area last night…some French guys sitting next to us said though that it was good luck to spill a whole glass of champagne…who knew…hee hee!
What do you think of this room? Anything you see here you covet?
Happy Wednesday!

P.P.S. Okay…just realized I used the word “sweet” in the title of another post just a week ago…! Not very creative!! I did the same a week before when I used the word “finesse” in two different post titles only to realize after publishing. Uh…smart genes are not working right now. Hmmmm…so much for me being a “creative” type! LOL! Hope you will forgive my limited vocabulary for post titles!

Hello!
I love, love, love The Bowery!!
Husband and I stayed there during our week long vacation in October and, needless to say, we had a fabulous time. It’s as you said… the whole environment – from suites to lounge to bar – are cool, eclectic and yet very, very comfortable.
We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at Gemma. Did you try the Nutella calzone?? Delish…:)
I am so looking forward to returning (maybe this summer?? please husband???)
Love your blog! Look forward to visiting every day.
Best,
Patricia (in Toronto, ON.)
the bed linens are incredible, i love them.
Me too! I love the bright color with the crispness of the white
LOVE this room! Yes, I want those linens! If you find some let us know!
I love the room, love your blog! Keep up the good work. You are so inspiring!
That hotel is absolutely adorable! LOVE the style. I actually just got into design mode after buying my new house. Ended up going for that type of look but on a budget and just wanted to share with the rest of the interior design lovers of the world!
Got new drapes, reupholstered ALL of my furniture, painted, and yada yada yada. Its done now and I DEFINITELY recommend DESIGNDIVAFABRICS.COM. All designer stuff but SUPER cheap. Good luck to the rest of you out there!!!!!!!

Ahhhh…the view is spectacular. Nothing like New York over the holidays. We were there over Thanksgiving and it was fabulous, as always!!
I understand why you like it here – it’s a charming room with fabulous floor to ceiling casement windows and a spectacular view – what’s not to like! Not to mention the stunning velvet settee!

I want the settee!! Love the scallop detail. They have enough fabric in the draperies to clothe a village. Lovely spot!!
i think you should move to nyc
you totally crack me up with your necklace story and room upgrade adventure…i can picture it all in my head. fun!
Absolutely love the rugs in here. They look similar to some of the antique Sultanabad/Mahal rugs, in some cases Oushak. Newer rugs from Peshawar emulate these large scale designs and prints at lower price points. Love it.
great looking room…love that large window. :)))) i was going to stay there on my last trip but ended up elsewhere…next time! :))))))))))
so lucky you didnt leave the necklaces in the room….last time i left something in a hotel it was never returned.
