TOP 4 NIGHTSTANDS & A COOL ECO FRIENDLY MATTRESS!

January 11, 2011

3 drawer mirrored side table or nightstand from Tonic Home
Tonic Home – Catherine Three Drawer Side Table – $865 (3 drawer mirrored side table or nightstand. Bungalow 5)(above)

A few weeks ago best of friend FF was looking for some nightstands for one of the master suites at her 8000 square foot ski home outside of Vail (ahhh such is the life). Her criteria was stylish nightstand with drawers. So off I went…

Here are a few that I found that I would love for my own house actually.

Nightstand or side table from Clayton Gray Home with three drawers, lacquered wood and a mirrored top and face
Clayton Gray Home – Ava Nightstand – $1240 (Three drawers. Lacquered wood. Mirrored top and face. From Worlds Away)(above)

Lattice bedside table from Baker with one drawer
Baker – Lattice Bedside Table – $1495 (above)
3 drawer nightstand made from cherry solids with silver finish drawer pulls, a metal platform and four square, silver finished legs
Baker – Trocadero Bedside Chest – $3464 (Jacques Garcia collection. 3 drawer nightstand is crafted from cherry solids cherry veneers. Silver finish drawer pulls. Metal platform and four square legs finished in silver)(above)

I think my favorite is the Ava and then comes this Trocadero right above…but if someone gave me one of the others I would take it!

Then speaking of bedside manner…there is the issue of me needing a new mattress…desperately…can’t bother with shopping for one now but will get around to it…I just might have to think of going eco-friendly next time…food for thought…right?

Organic memory foam mattress from Essentia
Essentia – Classic Skinny Mattress – $1860 (Organic mattress. Petroleum free memory foam. Dust mite deterrent & hypoallergenic)(above)

Which of these nightstands is your favorite…what do you look for in a good bedside table?

Happy Tuesday!

Really tough to pick a favorite between Trocadero, Lattice and Ava. Love them all. Sorry, Catherine – just not loving the mirror.

The Baker Lattice is my fav! looks totally Palm Beach to me, even a bit 60’s retro…..and I have had a temperpedic mattress for over 15 years now, and I wouldn’t have anything else….it is that good. Really.

This Haussmannian apartment sits directly facing N This Haussmannian apartment sits directly facing Notre-Dame on the Left Bank, and @double_g_interior_design designed the interior to match that setting without competing with it. ✨
The approach was deliberate restraint: restored cornices kept intact, stained oak floors, limestone tones, a mix of vintage furniture and contemporary silhouettes. Every choice earning its place. The light does the rest. Bouncing off mirrors, moving through the neutral walls across the day. 🔅
→ Save this if you’re working with a Haussmannian space and want to let the architecture lead.

That level of control is what makes the result so specific. Rich materials, sculptural forms, cinematic lighting but nothing feels decorative for its own sake. Every detail was considered as part of one complete vision, and you feel it in every room. ✨

Natural light is the one thing every room has in c Natural light is the one thing every room has in common here, but the window shape, wall material, and time of day make each one feel like an entirely different experience. ☀️
It’s a reminder that light isn’t just a condition in a room. It’s a design decision.

This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a French interior designer and architect, Nathan Litera @nathanlitera is a beautiful reminder that good design isn’t about replacing the past, but learning how to live with it. You see it in the preserved millwork, the original fireplaces, the parquet floors, and then in the quiet contrast of contemporary lighting, cleaner silhouettes, and restrained color.
The magic is in the balance. The newer pieces don’t compete with the architecture. They feel intentional, calm, and completely at ease. Nothing is overly styled. Nothing distracts. History stays front and center while the space still feels entirely livable today.
Here’s how to bring that same feeling into your own home:
* Keep your base timeless — neutral walls, classic materials, architectural details if you have them
* Let contrast do the work — modern lighting or furniture against traditional bones instantly updates a space
* Edit your palette — keep colors within a tight range and let texture and form do the talking
* Invest in materials — marble, wood, plaster. They age beautifully and never feel out of place
It’s not about recreating a château. It’s about understanding the feeling that quiet kind of luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.
Save this for when you want your space to feel layered, timeless, and truly considered. ✨
