White living room with natural linen upholstered sofa and armchairs featuring a delicate stripe pattern. (above)
Love this living room designed by Carrier and Company! I like the light and airy feel of the space and I love the upholstered furniture – natural linen with a dark stripe. Vintage linen sacks are the de rigeur in home decor…while the sofa and chairs here are probably not covered in actual grainsacks, they have that same feel. LOVE!!!
Am still in NY, went to a fab lunch yesterday with friend JT and her friend Kalyn Johnson (who also has a great style blog) at a place in Tribeca called Landmarc (fantastic), then dinner (only two hours later) with best of friend AM and her hubby JE at Lucky Strike (one of my favorite Soho restaurants), and then off to a cool party at an artist’s home, and now it is morning…was supposed to be at the design fair by 8a…not there yet (it is 10:30a and I am still in my PJs…oy). AM’s husband JE referred to us as being as slow as a herd of turtles…hmmmm….then he changed it to us moving as slow as a herd of dead turtles…hmmmm (JE has been up and about, dressed, went to Starbucks and got me a tea and AM some coffee, he has taken their 2 year old son to soccer practice (yes soccer practice) and is generally moving…we’re still here at the apartment piddling around…). Can’t seem to step it up and move fast…AM and I keep talking about celebrity gossip, home decor, random stuff and her cute daughter LE…we are trying to make progress to get out of the house…trying…trying! Okay…well, as soon as I press send on this post…will be off to the Javitz Center with AM and daughter LE…design and decor here we come!
Anyhoooooo…..what do you think of this living room?

I am so agree with you! This spce gives a light and airy feel! From the moment I saw this picture ( a few months ago, I don’t know where it was anymore), I was attracted by it and filed it in my favorites!

Now THAT is what you call a gorgeous room!!

A beautiful white room. I would love to see it in person. I’m envious of your trip to NY, especially the textiles. What fun! Have a great time. –Delores
I can see why people like this design….but I can’t really say that I do. It’s a bit too washed out for me. Very calming and clean, but I don’t really get a personal feel to it. Very interesting!
Very serene room, pretty. (I had brunch at Landmarc last year – loved it! I’ll be in New York next month…looking forward to hearing more great places to see and go to – hope you do more NYC blog posts!) 🙂
The carpeting looks interesting. I’m wondering what it’s made of.
This room does have a spaciousness to it and it does have appeal, however, not my taste. I prefer cozier rooms where it looks like people have quiet conversations and sit close to each other.
I love how the furniture blends quietly into the setting. An escape from the ‘Can you keep up?’ feel of high contrast-They are beautiful and simple pieces, gentle and graceful allowing the people and time to shine instead of the overzealous furnishings!
Oh, my, that Javts Center will do you in…
accept my condolences! Place your sore tootsies under the tub faucet, run cold and then hot.
And the room… do they shout at one another across the coffee table; get up for every hors d’oeuvres?
I absolutely love the way you ramble on!! i enjoy that.. and you do manage to twirl the readers attention with it.. nic work!! and the sace is oozing with breth.. its crisp its light.. its spacious.. i am currently writing about decorating large spaces an i think iight use this as reference
