5 Cozy Bedroom Attic Lofts

May 4, 2017
  • Share

In my search for inspiring attic bedroom transformations, I came across a blog called Adventures in Cooking. Blogger Eva Kosmas shared the before and after makeover of her master bedroom in her Pacific Northwest home, and I must say, the result is absolutely stunning. Eva managed to create a fresh and bright room that effortlessly combines modern style with a touch of rustic charm.

As I explored Eva’s blog post, I couldn’t help but fall in love with her attic bedroom and the cozy ambiance it exudes. It serves as a true testament to the potential of attic spaces, showcasing how they can be transformed into havens of comfort and style. But that’s not all—the blog post also features seven other cozy bedroom attic lofts, each with its own unique character and design approach. Honestly, I love this room and 4 other cozy bedroom attic lofts in this post!

BEFORE – Dark and Gloomy Attic Loft

Eva’s attic loft bedroom had a cozy and intimate feel with its low ceiling, but it suffered from a lack of natural light and a dim atmosphere due to the dark blue walls. Attic lofts have a unique character that shouldn’t be hidden away; instead, they should embrace and enhance their inherent features. And that skylight on the side of the ceiling? It holds so much untapped potential! Just imagine the possibilities of flooding the room with sunlight and bringing in the beauty of the outdoors. With a little creativity and thoughtful design, Eva’s attic loft bedroom can be transformed into a bright and charming space that fully embraces the enchanting qualities of attic living. It’s all about unlocking the natural charm and making the most of what the attic loft has to offer!

AFTER – Bright and Charming Attic Oasis

Ahhhh…fresh, bright and charming.

Well done Eva! This room as really transformed! Eva’s attic loft bedroom now features white walls, complemented by crisp white bedding. The addition of in-wall cupboards provides clever storage solutions, helping to optimize the limited space.

The pitched rooflines of the attic loft add a touch of magic to the space, making it truly special. Not only do they add visual interest, but they also create the illusion of more space within the confined area. The once dim and cramped attic loft has undergone a remarkable change, thanks to Eva’s efforts. Her thoughtful design choices and attention to detail have truly transformed the room into a haven of tranquility.

Well done, Eva! Your attic loft bedroom is a testament to the potential that lies within these tucked-away spaces. It showcases how a simple color palette, clever storage solutions, and the inherent charm of pitched rooflines can completely elevate the atmosphere of an attic loft.

Attic Loft Inspiration

Here are a few more attic lofts I am liking right now.  The pitched rooflines are what make these rooms so special.  Note…must find a house with some sort of attic or top floor room that I can convert!

That level of control is what makes the result so specific. Rich materials, sculptural forms, cinematic lighting but nothing feels decorative for its own sake. Every detail was considered as part of one complete vision, and you feel it in every room. ✨

Natural light is the one thing every room has in c Natural light is the one thing every room has in common here, but the window shape, wall material, and time of day make each one feel like an entirely different experience. ☀️
It’s a reminder that light isn’t just a condition in a room. It’s a design decision.

This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a French interior designer and architect, Nathan Litera @nathanlitera is a beautiful reminder that good design isn’t about replacing the past, but learning how to live with it. You see it in the preserved millwork, the original fireplaces, the parquet floors, and then in the quiet contrast of contemporary lighting, cleaner silhouettes, and restrained color.
The magic is in the balance. The newer pieces don’t compete with the architecture. They feel intentional, calm, and completely at ease. Nothing is overly styled. Nothing distracts. History stays front and center while the space still feels entirely livable today.
Here’s how to bring that same feeling into your own home:
* Keep your base timeless — neutral walls, classic materials, architectural details if you have them
* Let contrast do the work — modern lighting or furniture against traditional bones instantly updates a space
* Edit your palette — keep colors within a tight range and let texture and form do the talking
* Invest in materials — marble, wood, plaster. They age beautifully and never feel out of place
It’s not about recreating a château. It’s about understanding the feeling that quiet kind of luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.
Save this for when you want your space to feel layered, timeless, and truly considered. ✨

Sharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. ESharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. Every day for the last few months has been the greatest day ever here. Even days that are not event filled feel special in Paris.
Started with French class on this day. I was taking classes at L'Alliance Français because living here means actually trying to belong here and speak the language.
Then off to the Hôtel de Crillon @rosewoodhoteldecrillon ,a historic palace hotel overlooking Place de la Concorde, known for its timeless interiors and quiet kind of luxury, catching up with a friend like it was the most ordinary thing...in extraordinary place.
So even though nothing momentous happened...wanted to show you what my every greatest day life looks like in Paris.
This city keeps surprising me. 🖤
