5 BOLDLY BLUE ROOMS

April 3, 2015

blue rooms den family room library

Blue is the type of color you can go totally all out with when decorating a space. Boldly blue rooms are pretty to the eye and somehow so soothing. They can transform a small bedroom into a serene sanctuary by adding splashes of light blue hues. Or design a sophisticated home office like the photo above with rich midnight blue wallpaper or matte blue paint. There is so much you can do with the color blue! See our blue room round-up to get inspired for your next home project.

To me, almost every shade of blue is the right shade of blue. I challenge you to find a room that looks terrible in all blue!

Here are 5 all blue, boldly blue rooms to consider.

2. Minty Blue Mudroom

3. Dreamy Blue Bedroom

4. Two-Toned Blue Entryway

5. Elegant Crystal Blue Bedroom

My favorite is the blue library by Meredith Heron at the top. Something so regal about a dark navy blue.

Which is your favorite?

Happy Friday!

P.S. Had another great night out at the Soho House last night. Was with my guy TE and his son JE and all of JE’s friends. I was dressed in some awesome Theory cargo pants, some black ankle strap heels and a cute asymmetrical top. I love the pants. Comfortable but stylish.

P.P.S.  Spending Easter with my mom, sister DS and my guy TE…having a nice brunch in my hometown.

Love the bedroom one with the soft blue linen bedding – although the pile of books etc at the bottom of the bed make me twitch a little as I am rather tidy!. I have dyed my white linen bedding in shades of blue. If I could, I would live in a totally blue flat (rented sadly) as blue is my colour.

Hello. Just love the blue – in paint form! We just decorated our bedroom with Fired Earths Turkish Blue, hideous coverage but worth the many coats.

The bedroom blue is outstanding! I posted the link on all my social accounts.

Omg, I love the eggshell blue kitchen! All of these are so bold and beautiful, though. Love it when people try out something innovative like this!

My initial thought was that there was going to be too much blue. I was wrong! These rooms look amazing.

Summer sale season is here, and we are not holding back. 👏
This is the time of year to finally grab those pieces you’ve been eyeing all season. The good news? Major markdowns are happening right now across some of the best brands.
Our tip: Shop with intention. Know your palette, know your fit, and choose pieces that work with what you already own, not just because they’re on sale.
We’ve already done the hard work and created a Summer Sale Shopping Board filled with our favorite finds. A Shopping Board is like your own storefront. It’s a curated collection of products you can shop yourself or share with others to earn when they purchase through your links.
✨ Want to make it yours?
Comment SALE and we’ll send you the link. Then just tap “Add This Board” to save it to your Chirpyest account. From there, you can shop the collection, share it with your audience, earn from your recommendations, and get cashback on your own purchases. 💛

What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.

If you only have 10 minutes, focus on these three things:
1. Make the bed. It instantly makes the whole room look cleaner.
2. Fold or straighten the throw blanket and pillows.
3. Clear visible clutter from nightstands and the floor.
That’s it. Those three steps make the biggest visual impact without deep cleaning.
Save this for the next time you need a fast bedroom reset. 🔖

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤

Life when I’m offline. 🎣 On this trip to Park CitLife when I’m offline. 🎣
On this trip to Park City, UT, I was way off line with a little fly fishing. No emails. No DMs. No feed. Just a rod, a beautiful river, and however long it takes to catch something.
Running two brands means my brain rarely stops so when it does, it really does.
No fish were harmed. All fish were returned into the river.
What do you do when you log off? Comment and let's give each other some ideas!😀
