House tour Monday! Today I bring you a penthouse apartment in the Walker Tower building at 212 West 18th Street in Chelsea is on the market for $70 million. The home was purchased in 2014 by Neil Moffit, CEO of London based restaurant group Hakkasan. Apparently Moffit purchased the unit for $51 million back then. Just two years later, the apartment manse is back on the market. Extreme multi million dollar house flipping! The home is listed by Sotheby’s International Realty.
So you might wonder…what do you get for $70 million in New York City? Here’s the list:
- 5 bedrooms
- 6 baths
- Interior: 5,955 sq. ft.
- Exterior terrace: 479 sq. ft.
- 3 Fireplaces
- Granite/Stone Countertops
- Hardwood Flooring
- Floor to Ceiling Windows
To be honest, the list above seems very normal…so I would have to see more of this one to decide that I would spend my hard earned $70 million on it. I might easily be willing to spend $30 million or so…decisions…decisions…a in person tour might make me double the price. $70 million makes me feel like something should be diamond encrusted and windows should be trimmed in gold! #richpeoplesproblems right? I do know that Walker Tower is known to be a super duper luxury building with amazing amenities and I am sure very glamorous neighbors. Here’s the tour.
Would you spend $70 million on this apartment if you had it. Imagine a luxury pied-a-terre in the city all to yourself? I do love the steel windows and the master bathroom. Would certainly not turn my nose up to this apartment if someone offered it to me as a gift. Anyone? Anyone? I am ready for accepting any penthouse apartment gifts!
Happy Monday!

P.S. Hope you had a great 4th of July weekend. We had a fantastic time. Spent the 4th with TE, JE and B. I have been on a vegan diet for a few weeks…I am not vegan….I just tried a vegan diet as encouraged by my best of friend AM. Anyhoooo…in advance, AM and I decided we would take the weekend off from no dairy, no sugar, no caffeine, no meat, no alcohol (I know…I can’t believe I did that for 2 weeks). So for me, this year, I was celebrating being an American by eating meat! A new form of patriotism?!? My guy TE thought I had gone kooky when I was giddy over all of the meat choices available on the 4th; I ended up not really eating that much because I there were too many meat choices! We went to a beach party at BN and SN’s family house right on the beach in Santa Monica. Love that house (also because they have COCOCOZY bedding in all of the bedrooms upstairs). Then we watched fireworks on TE’s roof with a bunch of his neighbors. It is TE’s last 4th in his apartment before we move in together…so he really enjoyed the rooftop festivities. I had a fantastic time too.
P.P.S. In the home stretch on our Malibu home renovation project. This week is critical. Wood floors all go in as do cabinets. Tile should be done too. I just got a drawing from our counter fabricator on our master bedroom integrated sink. I love it. I sent it to TE and he loves it too. Please remember to follow me @COCOCOZY on Instagram for all of the latest Malibu home remodel updates!

What is that phrase? “Location, location, location.” That must be the case here. It’s nice enough but not really 70 Mil nice! Ha ha.
I love it!!! The floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom seals the deal for me.
This house is just…wow.
Love the sapphire colored sofa and the amethyst looking artwork. Totally stunning. Plus the bathroom with that bathtub is a total wow.
Did anyone else notice that you can walk up to the outside of master bath from the terrace. I am not sure that I like that detail…if I had to be 70 million ways picky!
And walking through the kitchen to get to the dining room…very poor planning. Take off 20 just for that!
