This is post is for best of friend AM. AM loves a good bunkroom. In the last few years, in every home she decorates for her family, she has at least one bunk bed room. As of right now AM is the proud mommy designer of two bunkrooms for her kids L and J. She has one in her Soho New York City apartment and one in her lovely Hamptons home. AM has a third house in the Dominican Republic (yes three houses!) so maybe she’ll add a bunkroom there too.
The bedroom pictured above is AM’s in the Hamptons. Love it. The wall map, the pendant light from Ikea and the bunk beds. There are 4 beds in this room that houses her kids and their friends on summer weekends and winter weekend getaways. A kid’s dream.
Like powder rooms, bunkrooms are definitely a space to be design fearless. A room with beds stacked on top of each other is made for adding playful decorating touches. Bunkrooms are perfect for packing in a ton of kids and if you have overrun of guests, you can pack a few adults in there too!
Here are 7 more cute bunkrooms.
Happy Thursday!

P.S. Sorry I haven’t posted as much this week. I am on a plane on my way back home from Chicago. Was there for more day job. Fun time. Interesting work and I am getting to see more of Chicago. Starting to really like it there. Don’t worry, I am still a Malibu girl…but…Chicago is becoming a favorite spot to visit.
bunk beds are the way to go to create fun memories for your kids and make them want to go to bed.
For a family consisting of more than one child like ours, kid’s bunk beds are ideal to accommodate both our kids in a single room. And this thought of mine was further manifested by this excellent blog post which give us a glimpse of different varieties of bunk beds.
