Interior Inspiration

A Dreamy Neutral Bedroom with a Minimalist Twist

September 2, 2022
  • Share

There’s no better feeling than waking up in a dreamy muted bedroom. The soft color palette is soothing, making it easy to unwind after a long day. This primary bedroom is a must-see space for anyone who needs bedroom decorating ideas. Interior designer, Hanne Gathe, redesigned this Oslo apartment to transform it into her permanent residence. After years of living in London and Australia, she wanted her apartment to be her forever home. It was important that every detail had a purpose.

The muted bedroom features custom fabrics and furniture. Gathe’s style is minimalist with European inspiration. The design is truly unique but has Gathe’s magic touch.

A calming primary bedroom with clean forms and textured details. The headboard was designed by Hanne Gathe to compliment the bedroom. It features a dark gray fabric with a cozy neutral print around the perimeter, which adds a luxurious flare.

To add more texture to the space, Gathe added Phillip Jeffries wallpaper on the closet doors and a beautiful marble countertop.

The best way to design a dreamy primary bedroom is by using a soft color palette. Neutral tones mixed with moody grays and blues will create a serene atmosphere. For decoration, mix and match modern and vintage style furniture. An ornate gold mirror will add some charm to the space. The main event is the bed. A luxurious bed with a fabric headboard will compliment the soft tones throughout the room. You can stick to a minimalist style headboard or go for something bold and glamorous. The decor will bring it all together. White shams and throw pillows will make the room look clean and comfortable. It’s actually easy to create a dreamy effect.

A well-designed bunk room isn’t just for kids. It’s about making every guest feel like they got the best bed in the house. Built-in storage, thoughtful lighting, and bedding that actually makes you want to climb up top.

This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎 This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎
Designer Ashley Montgomery layered reclaimed wood beams, brass hardware, and deep walnut millwork against soft plaster walls, and somehow every single room still feels calm. The olive built-ins in the living room, the arched oak doors, that brass shower enclosure in the primary bath... this is what happens when someone actually commits to a palette.

How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️
I flew from Los Angeles to Nantucket for a very quick trip and I’m planning to find out.
Beautiful beaches, boats, gorgeous interiors, time with friends and one last little dose of August.
Turns out you don’t always need a whole week to feel like you got away. 🤍
So happy to be visiting bestie @francesgfayard and her husband Calvin and my godson Carter for a little last minute end of summer travel. New England at its best. Day 1 was a beautiful day. 🤩
You are not going to feel motivated every day. AndYou are not going to feel motivated every day. And you don’t have to.
Some days you’ll feel inspired and everything seems to click. Other days, you’ll question what you’re doing and wonder if any of it is actually working.
The important thing is not to mistake a slow day for a step backward.
You can keep going even when the motivation isn’t there. Some days, showing up is the progress.
Save this for the days when you need the reminder. 🤍

The best parts of Paris might not be on your itineThe best parts of Paris might not be on your itinerary. 🇫🇷
Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.
So if you’re planning a Paris trip, don’t fill every hour. Leave room to wander.
