MOUNTAIN LAKE COUNTRY HOUSE – WINTER RETREAT!

So it is FREEEZING in Los Angeles right now. This time when I say freezing at least it is close to freezing temperatures at night…really. As I have my fireplace going and I’m bundled up all cozy at home (I look slightly ridiculous right now with a turtleneck on, sweats, a hooded sweatshirt and big wool socks on…lol!), I thought of these pictures I saw on architect Peter Pennoyer’s website.

Love this mountain country retreat in upstate New York! The perfect place to cozy up by the fire and enjoy the cold weather.

A striking foursome of black Adirondack chairs is lined up on the home’s porch providing a great spot for taking in the views in both the summer and winter. (above)

Wood paneled living room with vaulted ceilings, an enormous antler chandelier and striking stone fireplace and mantel create a space that is the ultimate in rustic decor chic. (above)

A window seat in the living room is nestled in a nook under a bay window. (above)

Detail of this country house’s main stairs case railing that is crafted from tree branches and logs. Notice the use of a variety of natural woods in the unfinished wood walls and the rough hewn wood block stairs. (above)

Dining room with windows on three sides, log columns, beadboard ceiling and country dining table and chairs by Peter Pennoyer
A country dining table and chairs anchor the breakfast room which is surrounded by windows on three sides and features a bead board ceiling and log columns. Almost has the feeling of a very grand log cabin. (above)

Back staircase with off white steps lined with green runner to match the green paneled wainscoting and trim
The back staircase is a study in country refinement. Off white stairs are lined with long avocado green staircase runner that compliments the green paneled wainscoting and trim. A muted yellow wallpaper adds subtle contrast. (above)

The long barn is a dream! Love this refined outdoor barn with several arched barn doors! (above)

What do you think of this country house?

This barn is amazing. I will step outside in a few minutes to survey my future garage area at Garvinweasel and sketch an idea using this as inspiration. Thanks for a beautiful post!

Oh my goodness, what a stunning home! I love the contrast of the black exterior with the red trim, and that banister on the staircase has stolen my heart. Great find and thanks for the share!

Yay! Another Peter Pennoyer house! I love the black and red contrast and the window seat. That’s the perfect place to curl up and read a book when the snow is falling down. Beautiful!

Even though I’m not typically that into lodges, I would love to curl up with a book in this one, snow falling outside…

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
