Happy Thanksgiving?

Was trying to find a photo of a great dining room or table setting I liked in honor of the holiday…but this lovely living room stopped me in my tracks. So instead of a seeing a fabulous tablescape on Thanksgiving…you get this from me. Maybe it is a sign for me…cut back on food on Thanksgiving Day and enjoy the company of others in the communal living spaces…? Well I will most likely still eat AND definitely commune with family!

Love this room by fab L.A. architect William Hefner! So this is my way of saying Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you for reading. Thank you for your comments. Thank you for spending time with me this year and hopefully next! Hope you have a fantastic day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

P.S. Must wake up early and make a few pies! Wish me luck!

Love the room too! My most recent pie was pear pie with streusel topping and caramel sauce baked in for the last 10 minutes of cooking. (I have a monthly Pie Salon with interesting artists and musicians — how fabulous is that!)

Wonderful blog — I always click on the e-mail notification the second it comes through.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

A well-designed bunk room isn’t just for kids. It’s about making every guest feel like they got the best bed in the house. Built-in storage, thoughtful lighting, and bedding that actually makes you want to climb up top.
Save this for your next build or renovation inspo and follow for more. 🖤

This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎 This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎
Designer Ashley Montgomery layered reclaimed wood beams, brass hardware, and deep walnut millwork against soft plaster walls, and somehow every single room still feels calm. The olive built-ins in the living room, the arched oak doors, that brass shower enclosure in the primary bath... this is what happens when someone actually commits to a palette.

How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️
I flew from Los Angeles to Nantucket for a very quick trip and I’m planning to find out.
Beautiful beaches, boats, gorgeous interiors, time with friends and one last little dose of August.
Turns out you don’t always need a whole week to feel like you got away. 🤍
So happy to be visiting bestie @francesgfayard and her husband Calvin and my godson Carter for a little last minute end of summer travel. New England at its best. Day 1 was a beautiful day. 🤩
You are not going to feel motivated every day. AndYou are not going to feel motivated every day. And you don’t have to.
Some days you’ll feel inspired and everything seems to click. Other days, you’ll question what you’re doing and wonder if any of it is actually working.
The important thing is not to mistake a slow day for a step backward.
You can keep going even when the motivation isn’t there. Some days, showing up is the progress.
Save this for the days when you need the reminder. 🤍

The best parts of Paris might not be on your itineThe best parts of Paris might not be on your itinerary. 🇫🇷
Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.
So if you’re planning a Paris trip, don’t fill every hour. Leave room to wander.
