AM DECO: MODERN NURSERY FOR A LITTLE BABY GIRL!

Colorful nursery in an NYC loft with stylish prints and florals
AM and JE’s colorful nursery for their little baby girl features a well coordinated and stylish array of prints and florals. (above)

This is the nursery that best of friend AM designed in her New York City Soho loft for her little baby girl. AM lives with her very sweet husband JE, their cute son JE Jr. (he is actually JE III but it is easier for me to refer to him as Jr.) and their beautiful 4 month old daughter LE in a very posh well styled home filled with design surprises and lots of color…or should I say pink.

AM loves pink and whenever she gets the opportunity to use it in home decor…she does so in a bold and chic way. So it is perfect that her second child is a baby girl…giving AM the license and freedom to think even more pink!

So this is little baby LE’s cute room – a cheery nursery custom made with love and with just the right amount of pink for a little girl.

The key design element to this room are the textiles – bright and bold florals and botanicals mixed with some more traditional prints all make for a delightful mix of texture and color. Regal black and white brocade Roman shades, a lovely fresh pink and white floral on pillows and baby bedding, and a modern black and white floral on custom accessories and bedding all blend to make a unique and well designed space for a baby.

Now…in true AM fashion, I have no details on the fabrics in the room…another mystery post. Today, when I asked AM about where she got the textiles, she said “I told you already, they are Kravet fabrics.” Little does AM remember, that about three weeks ago when I asked her about the textiles in the room she said, “I got them at Duralee. I ordered them from there.” And to add to the confusion, I’m sure that she doesn’t remember telling me four months ago, just before LE was born, that she ordered the fabrics from “some British company online. I’ll tell you the exact name of it later. I can’t talk. I am at Starbucks right now.”. Hence this is another AM DECO Unsolved Mystery. If any of you, or AM herself, has any ideas on the specific names or origins of all of the beautiful prints and fabrics in this room, please do share. Thank you very much.

Fabric sourcing aside, here are some pictures of a wonderfully whimsical AND sophisticated baby nursery as designed by AM in today’s AM DECO:

Entry way outside a nursery with dark grey medallion brocade wall decals, a hot pink glass cabinet, and a cowhide rug
Even the hallway outside the nursery is decorated! Dark grey medallion brocade wall stickers (or wall decals), a luxe cowhide rug, a bright hot pink glass cabinet and of course AM’s silver pig (an exact match to my own silver piggy) all make for a stylish entry into the nursery.(above)

French doors leading inside a nursery in a NYC loft
French doors lead into the nursery in this NYC loft. The doors serve a dual purpose allowing for both privacy and also for light to flow throughout the New York apartment (above)

Bright pink bookshelf in a nursery in NYC with custom fabric storage boxes
To match the room’s decor, AM painted a book shelf a bright pink. (above)

Custom fabric storage boxes in a nursery
AM had custom fabric storage boxes made for the shelf – a great solution for making open shelving functional and good looking. (above)

Nursery with Roman shades in different prints that cover the glass doors
Two different prints of fabric are used for the roman shades that cover the glass doors in this room. (above)

Jonathan Adler's British Flag pillows on black and white bedding on a daybed in a nursery
The pink, orange and white Union Jack pattern in Jonathan Adler’s British Flag pillows add a bit of fun and whimsy to the black, white and pink bedding on the daybed in the nursery. (above)

All white crib from bloom's Alma crib from tottini in a nursery in an NYC loft
A small all white adorable wooden crib – bloom’s Alma crib – came from a wonderful children’s store called tottini owned by AM’s sister-in-law MM.(above)

Cute white cow on a pink and white floral floor pillow in a nursery in an NYC loft with custom storage boxes
A stuffed animal – a cute white cow – sits comfortably on a comfy pink and white floral floor pillow. Notice the fab custom storage boxes above the cow…AM simply found some small boxes and covered them in some chic wrapping paper so that they blended with the color scheme and design style of the room. (above)

Black and white Asian inspired floral fabric stretched on square canvas frames in a nursery in a NYC loft
Black and white Asian inspired floral fabric AM loved is stretched over square canvas frames to create custom looking art for the space. (above)

Entry way outside a nursery with dark grey medallion brocade wall decals, French doors and a cowhide rug
Did I mention that this room did not exist before last fall? AM and JE acutally had a wall built in their New York City loft apartment to create the space that would be their daughter’s room. Also, couldn’t really show you, but this apartment has GREAT high ceilings too. (above)

Thank you AM and JE for letting me share your nursery with readers. It is just darling.

Little LE is a very lucky little girl!

P.S. Special thanks to good friend AL on this post…I sent a few photos to her for color correction because I took these photos on the fly as I was rushing down to to get my car service to the airport when leaving NY about a month ago. When a few photos were a little dark, AL came to the rescue. AL’s Photoshop skills are great (I have no Photoshop skills so anything beyond no skills is great to me btw)! Thank you little AL!

The fabrics are Duralee. Just a wonderful mix of color and pattern, and what an artful way for this little girl to grow up with great design.

Wow…talk about your pattern! I love that the parents obviously put a lot of what they love into this room, especially because it is going to be the home for what they love most!

I am so jealous of their cow hide rug. I have wanted one for some time now, but my husband just won’t accept that idea! Maybe someday….

Beautiful! Some of the fabrics are Duralee. The black and white baskets are pattern 20783-101, and the black and white bedding is pattern 20800-295. You can find them at Duralee.com.

Does anyone know the name and where to purchase the rug in the nursery. I have been looking for this rug for awhile and have been unable to find the source.
    Thanks!

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
