AM DECO: ASIAN INSPIRED LIGHTING!

Swarovski crystal chandelier designed by Tord Boonjte from Moss
Moss – Blossom Chandelier – $37,500 (Swarovski crystal chandelier designed by Tord Boonjte for Swarovski Palace in 2002. This chandelier is made of an iridescent clear and rosalin Swarovski crystalmetal structure featuring 240 twinkling triple 0.1 watt lights. A grand 57.5″ high) (above)

AM DECO is now back with a new inspiration…best of friend AM finally decided to weigh in again on AM DECO…this time with all things Asian or anything Chinoiserie.

Just last week, received an email from AM with several links to things she likes that are “Chinoiserie”…including a fantastic Swarovski pink crystal chandelier which looks like a sprig from a cherry blossom tree and a white resin Asian Goddess lamp…both very AM…all with a very specific continent of inspiration – Asia.

AM started murmuring about this Asian inspired home decor interest (obsession) when we were in France this summer (me, AM, her husband JE and some other friends). As we window shopped through the enchanting streets of Paris, from time to time I would see a piece of furniture or home accessory I liked and exclaim, “Ooooh that is pretty. I like that. Look.”. Each time, AM would unequivocally respond,”I don’t like it…it is not Chinoiserie…I am doing my guest room in an Asian theme and it’s not Asian themed” and off she would trot. I will commend AM on her design focus and her ability to find what she wants…and if she can’t find it, she has it made…I have no doubt that AM will design a gorgeous Asian inspired guest room (and after, I hope, will be able to appreciate non-Chinoiserie home furnishings too…LOL!)

For the next few weeks or months you’ll be seeing a lot of interesting Chinoiserie or Asian themed accessories and furniture…this week it is lighting…who knows what next week will bring…we do know, however, until this guest room is done, we will be seeing many more of AM DECO’s Asian inspired brilliant home decor finds!

The bouclé sofa isn’t a trend, it’s a commitment. The bouclé sofa isn’t a trend, it’s a commitment. Soft, sculptural, and impossible to walk past without wanting to sit down. The rooms that get it right pair it with something unexpected: a dramatic mural, an antique screen, a city skyline, a hand-laid mosaic floor.

A well-designed bunk room isn’t just for kids. It’s about making every guest feel like they got the best bed in the house. Built-in storage, thoughtful lighting, and bedding that actually makes you want to climb up top.
Save this for your next build or renovation inspo and follow for more. 🖤

This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎 This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎
Designer Ashley Montgomery layered reclaimed wood beams, brass hardware, and deep walnut millwork against soft plaster walls, and somehow every single room still feels calm. The olive built-ins in the living room, the arched oak doors, that brass shower enclosure in the primary bath... this is what happens when someone actually commits to a palette.

How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️
I flew from Los Angeles to Nantucket for a very quick trip and I’m planning to find out.
Beautiful beaches, boats, gorgeous interiors, time with friends and one last little dose of August.
Turns out you don’t always need a whole week to feel like you got away. 🤍
So happy to be visiting bestie @francesgfayard and her husband Calvin and my godson Carter for a little last minute end of summer travel. New England at its best. Day 1 was a beautiful day. 🤩
You are not going to feel motivated every day. AndYou are not going to feel motivated every day. And you don’t have to.
Some days you’ll feel inspired and everything seems to click. Other days, you’ll question what you’re doing and wonder if any of it is actually working.
The important thing is not to mistake a slow day for a step backward.
You can keep going even when the motivation isn’t there. Some days, showing up is the progress.
Save this for the days when you need the reminder. 🤍
