BEST DRESSED CLOSET!

February 15, 2011
  • Share

Dressing room with mirrored black high gloss closet doors, storage hidden behind taupe curtains, and a bench

I like this dressing room. Elegant, organized, simple, tasteful. Would just die to have a space like this to get ready in the mornings. A space where all wardrobe options are easily viewed. Love the mirrored black high gloss closet doors and all of the storage…and the light…let there be light…a closet with a window! I also like the bench seating in this dressing room…perfect place to toss the latest LBD or to lounge while contemplating your latest fashion look. Oh wouldn’t my clothes be happy here!

What is your ideal closet? Do you have it in place or are you still trying to pull it together?

Happy Tuesday!

My husband wants to turn an upstairs bedroom into a laundry room (right now it is 2 flights carrying up from the basement!) and dressing room. Please keep the ideas coming, Coco!

Great space. I would love to have a closet that has this much room. I dream about Mariah or Kimora’s closets, but I’m not greedy, I just want one where I can actually see what I have. One day!

    Stylishly yours,
    Kalyn

My dream closet would be any closet I didn’t have to share! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that one day I will have a beautiful walk-in closet with a little area to sit and admire my own closet 😉

A house I lived in while in college had a very similar dressing room but with a mirrored vanity and bell pulls for the maid and for the butler(hmmm…).

I so miss having a window in my closet – had one in my wonderful closet at my old house but not here – it’s such a lovely feature!!

This is a beautiful dressing room – love the mirrored doors – practical AND beautiful! My ideal dressing room would be connected to the master bath so everything was together, but separated by a beautiful sliding door. You have me dreaming now! 🙂

I love this Closet, My dream closet would have to be a very Art Deco theme, just like you see in the old hollywood movies, they are so over the top but give off so much elegance with the rich fabrics, blacks silvers and white with streamline shapes …. a girl can dream !

Designer Emma Donnersberg took her own Paris apartment in the 7th arrondissement and used it to rewrite the rules — classical bones, contemporary everything else. Her Wave Sofa and U&Me Table anchor the living room in organic curves. In the kitchen, a green ceramic-wrapped island does the heavy lifting for color against all that neutral stone. And the dining room? A Carrara travertine fireplace that turns stone into the whole point of the room.
Curved, curated, and completely hers. 🤍

A little peek at one of my favorite outdoor spaces, which I designed years ago. The patterned tile, navy seating, white stucco, and layers of greenery make this balcony feel like a little room all its own.
I love how much personality you can create in a small outdoor space without making it feel overcrowded.

Want a bedroom that feels cozy, warm, and invitingWant a bedroom that feels cozy, warm, and inviting? Start with these simple changes:
1. Layer your bedding. Mix sheets, a duvet, quilts, and throw blankets to create that plush, lived-in look.
2. Add warm lighting. Swap harsh overhead lighting for bedside lamps, sconces, or a statement light with a warm glow.
3. Bring in plenty of texture. Think linen, velvet, boucle, chunky knits, and soft rugs.
4. Keep the palette warm and calming. Soft neutrals, earthy tones, and muted colors instantly make a room feel more restful.
5. Mix in natural materials. Wood, rattan, woven accents, and stone add warmth and character.
6. Make the walls feel personal. Art, photographs, or even a statement headboard can make the room feel more finished.
7. Add something organic. A vase of branches, fresh flowers, or a little greenery can bring the room to life.
The goal isn’t to make your bedroom perfect. It’s to make it feel like a place you actually want to retreat to at the end of the day.
Save this for your next bedroom refresh. 🤎
