BLACK IN FASHION

black-arpartment-romain-ricard

Okay…the other day I had a business meeting with some of my New York colleagues…the meeting was a a video conference call to be exact…when I walked into the meeting sporting a simple black Prada dress, black Woford opaque tights and super high Stuart Weitzman booties, someone on the other end of the video conference call said, “Here comes Coco.  Looking chic as always. She is always wearing black.  Coco I know you don’t know most of the people in the room over here…but some of us were talking the other day and we wondered, do you always wear black?” Without a beat I said “Yes.”  Then my former intern said “The one time she wore purple shoes our boss made fun of her.”  Hmmm…

Anyhoo…all of this to say, I wear a lot of black.  In home decor however, I am a believer in a lot of white…bright crisp clean rooms with white walls and touches of pattern and color here and there.

What about an entirely black apartment our home…would that work and go with my work attire?  Hmmm…thinking….

P.S. Got back from Beaver Creek late last night. TE and I spent the weekend at best of friend FF and CCFs gorgeous skin in ski out home right on the mountain. Was so nice hanging out with them and my godson CGF. We had a great dinner on Sunday night with JH and FH too. Was so much fun!

The Mute. 220 sqm of Haussmannian light in eastern The Mute. 220 sqm of Haussmannian light in eastern Paris, dressed entirely in white.
Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

A single piece of art can change everything. ShariA single piece of art can change everything. Sharing with you how @tappancollective shows just how powerful art truly is when it comes to defining a space. ✨

Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just full, total, committed red.
From crimson kitchens to scarlet bathrooms, swipe through the spaces that prove one color is always enough.
Which one would you live in? 🔴
Save this for when you’re finally ready to commit.

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
