Brooklyn Home Tour: Romantic Kitchen with an Stylish Twist

February 3, 2023
  • Share

Now your average Brooklyn home tour. Every now and then a celebrity home makes me take a second look while scrolling through Instagram. Stranger Things star David Harbour, and British singer, Lily Allen, shared a tour of their Brooklyn townhouse. It’s a combination of New York charm with Italian glamour and traditional English designs. Every room incorporates unique vintage pieces and whimsical color schemes that most celebrity homes lack. It’s the complete opposite of the usual modern minimalist sanctuary we see all over social media. The standout of the Brooklyn home tour is the romantic kitchen design. Take a look below.

Why Kitchen Design is Important?

When it comes to kitchen design, it’s important to prioritize the layout of the kitchen. Regardless if you’re just renovating or building a home, a showstopping kitchen will increase the value of your home. The right design and style will improve the flow of the home by introducing areas for relaxing or socializing. And most importantly the kitchen will set the tone for the entire home.

Brooklyn Kitchen

The kitchen design features Italian designs inspired by the historically Italian American neighborhood. The color palette is mainly neutral with plum-colored checkered fabric by Claremont around the banquette and kitchen island. The backsplash is muted beige tiles by Anne Sacks. The walls and ceiling feature intricate detailings and elegant moldings. For a dramatic effect, interior designer, Billy Cotton, added a wide chandelier with an ornate medallion.

The Mute. 220 sqm of Haussmannian light in eastern The Mute. 220 sqm of Haussmannian light in eastern Paris, dressed entirely in white.
Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
