interiors Just a few weeks ago, the people who decide all things color trends came out with a trend color forecast for 2018. My response to this 2018 trend forecast is – “not yet”. I sas, “Wait. Please. I feel rushed.”
I am feeling this enormous pressure because I haven’t even had time to take in and consider this year’s Pantone Color of the Year yet. Arggghhhhh! The 2017 Color of the Year was announced back in December. I know. I am behind. I am getting to it now. So I need to beg the color trend people to hold the roll out of 2018. For me, I am just warming up to 2017 and I need time. Time to savor in it all including the color du jour.
“The color” as most of you know, is a shade of green, Pantone is calling Greenery (15-0343). Today I bring you 7 ways I would use the color of the year in home decor. Take a look and let me know if you have any other ideas…

home Must love a great two-toned kitchen. Right? Because of my new COCOCOZY Color Block rug collection, I am all about the color blocking in home decor this season. About a year ago, my mother had her lower cabinets painted a lovely blue and her upper kitchen cabinets painted white. It is nice to have a mom who is instinctively ‘on trend’! Love the idea of juxtaposing large monochromatic blocks of color in a room. I am doing a room makeover for a girls’ room right now. My little “clients” love pink. I decided to give them a color blocked room with a perfect pink ceiling and white walls. It turned out sooooo cute. So since I am all about two-toned spaces and things…today I bring you 12 stunning two-toned kitchens. Hope you enjoy!
interiors So…if you are following along on my instagram account you will see that I am currently vacationing in the Dominican Republic! It is lovely here. I am staying at my friend’s boutique resort, Playa Grande Beach Club. It is a charming spot right on the water with beautiful ocean views and amazingly charming architecture. One of the things all of the house here have are amazing vaulted ceilings. High ceilings make even the smallest space feel light and airy and grand. Note to self, find a house with vaulted ceilings.
Here are 11 stunning vaulted ceilings for your viewing pleasure!
style In just a few days, I am off for a spring break holiday in the Dominican Republic. Going with best of friend AM, her hubby JE, our friend MR, all of their kids (AM has two and MR has three kids) and SFJ is joining us too! MR’s hubby JR can’t make it so on this trip, JE and SFJ will be outnumbered!! When MR, AM and I get together on vacation, it is always fun and a little chaotic (in a good way). It will be so much fun. Cannot wait.
Anyhoo…that brings me to off the shoulder tops. Am so happy this style is still in this season. About two years ago, these shoulder baring tops made a resurgence in fashion and now it looks like the trend has become a fashion staple. Here a few I am liking for spring.
interiors interiors I listened to one of those TED Talks this weekend. It was all about decision making and choices. Basically, the whole hour was about making decisions and feeling good about those decisions. Picking and sticking with it. It was perfect as I went into my weekly weekend house hunt. I was listening to the TED Talk as I was driving around every random neighbor hood in Los Angeles, looking a potential houses. My takeaway was that I had to pick a neighborhood, decide that I am actually going to buy a house and commit.
So what does this have to do with noteworthy rustic wood ceilings?
