  • Share

Maison de la Luz is an incredible New Orleans hotel. It’s equal parts quirky, bold, and luxurious. It’s hard to believe that this space had a complete renovation. Atelier Ace took charge of rehabilitation while Studio Shamshiri tackled design. Exploring this hotel is a treat! Such a breathtaking blend of styles, colors, and patterns.

Townhouse Dining Room Chic

October 29, 2019
  • Share

Today I’m covering an incredible Manhattan townhouse dining room. Created by legendary interior designer Sheila Bridges, this dining room is expertly designed! The home is extremely luxe and refined in style. The dining room stood out to me because of its unique design. The mix of colors, styles, and furniture creates a completely unique space. Instead of just showing you the dining room – I paired fall dresses to wear to a gathering at this home. Whether brunch, a long afternoon lunch, or a formal dinner these are the perfect dresses to wear!

Celebrity Homes – Liv Tyler

October 21, 2019
  • Share

One thing I love posting about is celebrity home tours. When I ran across a tour of Liv Tyler’s West Village Townhouse I knew I had to cover it! A look inside Liv Tyler’s whimsical and beautifully designed townhouse! This stunning townhouse was entirely redone and was a historical renovation. They did an amazing job at adding custom molding, woods floors, pocket doors and more! This house tour is so good that it inspired two other post ideas that are now on my list!

The owner of this breathtaking home is the owner of the natural skincare line Lesse. It’s very clear that the owners of this home embrace the neutral color palette in all aspects of life. A perfectly designed NYC apartment is mysterious and exciting. The idea of living in such a populated area and making the most of out what space you can afford is mind-boggling. There are such talented interior designers in NYC that I had an amazing time just exploring images of their work. While not all apartments in NYC are this glamorous, I can’t help but fantasize about these designs. From huge lofts to Parisian chic here are some of my favorites.

Happy President’s Day!  More on the COCOCOZY Design House.  Today the focus is furnishings in the living room and dining room.  One of our partners for the COCOCOZY Design House is Article. They provided us with furniture for the living and dining room. Modern furniture with clean simple lines as the foundation was what I was looking for when decorating these spaces. I started with the basics a good sofa, great armchairs and substantial dining table, then the rest was easy…

If I had to describe my style, it’s a mix of traditional and modern, so I love a rustic modern home. This home from Kate Marker Interiors is the perfect combination of bright and neutral. Tall ceilings and larger than life chandeliers define this rustic home.

From the exteriors to the foyer, the continued color scheme throughout sets the tone for this beautiful house tour.

COCOCOZY: How to Style a Long Living Room

October 17, 2018
  • Share

I have a dilemma at the COCOCOZY Design House that I am renovating. The living room is extremely long and I couldn’t find the right placement for things because the layout makes furniture arrangement difficult.

That is until I recently found this long living room designed by Amanda Barnes Interiors and shot by Alyssa Rosenheck. This design works out the space just fine. Love the two long dueling pale pink velvet sofas mirroring each other at one end and the seating group at the other with leather and brass chairs and a fiddle leaf fig.

This design makes great use of the space in a long living room. Light and airy, this is definitely an inspiration for my reno project decor.  Thank you Amanda and Alyssa!

Micro Makeover: Iron Chair Before & After

April 10, 2018
  • Share

Time for another micro makeover!

I found these iron chairs at the Long Beach flea market years and years ago. I can’t remember exactly, but let’s say they were $100 for the pair. They were purple and pretty beaten up, but had great lines.

With a little love and inspiration from my favorite Casamidy, I was able to get these chair living room ready!

Take a look at the transformation (below).

Gorgeous Ways To Incorporate Spring Gray

April 5, 2018

Spring days call for Spring Gray!

I keep spotting rooms, architecture, and home accessories with gray accents — and I just love how the typically-drab color is being used to make other colors (including white!) pop.

Incorporating gray can keep your space sleek, neutral, and of course, oh-so cozy!

Easy Home Storage That Isn’t An Eyesore

March 27, 2018
  • Share

Time for a little spring organizing!

As a fan of cozy spaces, I’m often searching for ways to find extra room for storage in every area of the house. What I’m finding is that it’s possible to find homes for all your unsightly belongings with furniture or bins that you’ll want to show off.

My first tip would be to get rid of anything you do not need or use regularly. There is no reason to hang on to anything that isn’t adding value to your life. Haven’t worn that sweater in a year? Two years?? Donate it. Once you’ve narrowed it down and are only looking to store what you absolutely need, find chic ways to incorporate it into your decor!

Take a look (and shop!) some of my favorite finds for easy home storage that are pleasing to the eye (below)!

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome

I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. “Be patient with yourself it has been a funky fe “Be patient with yourself it has been a funky few months in the world.” My friend Manon texted this advice to me today. She is right. A little patience and a lot of kindness to yourself and to others during these unusual times will go a long way.

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! đŸ€Ș Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
