I was in New York last month when it was about 20 degrees. As I walked down the street in really cold weather from the Upper East Side to midtown where I had a meeting…I noticed that not one person was smiling as they shuffled by in extremely cold conditions. Hoards of people bundled up and many of them had scowls on their faces. It was so cold that I tightened my scarf around my neck, pulled down my hat, put on my scowl and walked with them…when in Rome. Anyhooooo…at that moment I thought about the fact that people who live in California should always be smiling…with warm weather, sunshine and blue skies staring us in the face, there should be lots of smiling and no scowling.
