The ulitmate in modern tufted furniture is of course the iconic Barcelona Chair – a 1929 design from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. These chairs are great because they can easilty fit into almost any kind of decor.
The DWR version is made from supple VOLO leather and is absolutely gorgeous! I want it in a really lovely carmel color! My sister has a vintage classic one she got from my aunt and uncle…hers is in white.

In this case, I am a bit of snob…I think I would go with the DWR version because of the detailing in the tufting and the quality of the leather.

The ultimate to me is the Barcelona Couch. A beautiful large daybed with a neck roll. Very chic. Put one across from a modern OR classic sofa. For fun party and entertaining seating…instead of couches use two facing each other in a living room.

Is saving money worth compromising a few elements of design? Wow. This statement tells me that not only do you not really appreciate what a good designer brings to the table, but you can’t even really tell the difference between good (classic in this case) design and so-so design. And if this is the case, then go ahead and buy the knock offs because you’ll never be able to tell the difference in the real and the fake anyway.
