I’ve been a long time fan of Delphine and Reed Krakoff…their asethtic and portfolio is beyond stunning, so when I saw that they bought the infamous Clark House Estate in Connecticut I knew I had to follow the project.
The ‘Clark House’ belonged to the copper heiress Huguette Clark and came complete with 14,000 sq ft of living space, 9 bedrooms and 11 fireplaces (why in the world you need more fireplaces than bedrooms I’ll never know.) It’s full of history and secrets and tremendous class and old world beauty. Every room tells a story, even the hallways have somethign to say!
Delphine and Reed Krakoff have a lovely collection of photos from the Clark House on their Instagram

I am sure that the reason there are more fireplaces than bedrooms is that that most homes of that period have fireplaces in the living room(s) , dining rooms, libraries, and sometimes even the kitchen. I would have thought there might be MORE than that ! (I have a degree in Historic Preservation !!!!)
