So I was driving by the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams store on 3rd Street here in Los Angeles…when I saw a white elegant Chesterfield sofa in the window. Not quite my style but I know good friend in New Jersey, NS, loves anything Chesterfield. The store window also had signs all over it that said “sale”. Turns out when I called the store to inquire about the Chesterfield style sofa on sale…this items is “not on sale really”… the one item I was interested in finding out more about was not on regular sale. Typical luck for 2008!
But, the story doesn’t end there…there was a bright light at the end of this year…
The good news is that the sofa is on “stocking sale” the store clerk told me. “Stocking or stalking sale?” I said amused and bemused. “Stocking sale” he said unamused “that’s when we’ve ordered a particular piece of furniture in bulk and have it in stock and are able to pass along the savings to our customers”. “Well…who knew…I just learned something new…I had never heard of a “stocking sale””, I said amused again. His response…silence.
Anyhooo….there are only two of these white Chester sofas left on “stocking sale” at the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams store in Los Angeles. No play on words here …no “stalking” necessary…the doors to the store are open!
