It’s Super Bowl Sunday and I am pretending to be totally into it by having people over my house. Go Cardinals….go Steelers….go… I never did pick one team to be loyal to during the game. Whoever looked like they were losing was my pick.
While I had a fun time with my guests, and found myself screaming and yelling at the television from time to time, I really couldn’t care less about the Super Bowl. Is that bad? Oh I did like the part where Jennifer Hudson sang the national anthem and when Bruce Springsteen was doing yoga poses and backbends and jumping on stage while belting out songs during the halftime show, and when the one big guy ran 100 yards for a touchdown but then got a flag later in the game for practically punching another player, and when my friend NN told us in length why he felt football should abolish all rules, and I liked the fact that the Steeler quarterback has such a long name it barely fits on his jersey, and I liked when the Steeler guy made the last touchdown but made it look like a ballet move, and I liked when all of his teammates were lying on top of him and I thought I was about to see some really good t.v. when I thought maybe one of his teammates might try to really make out with him. But otherwise, no strong feelings either way about the Super Bowl. Is it terrible that I am fine with or without this American tradition?
Needless to say, on Super Bowl Sunday…I did find this retro vintage-inspired tiny small bowl on sale from Crate & Barrel. This pottery earthenware petite bowl would have been so cute at my Super Bowl “party” (I put “party” in quotes because I wonder how many people equals a party). Perfect for desserts…I think ice cream or sorbet in particular! A super little bowl!
