TE and I were “tile dreaming” this past weekend at Ann Sacks in West Hollywood on Beverly Blvd. “Tile dreaming” is different from tile shopping. Tile shopping is when you are dead set on buying something…we went to Ann Sacks as we shopped on Beverly Blvd…just to “tile dream”…shopping for dreams of beautiful kitchens and baths filled with beautiful tile. I am sure if I said to TE right now, “Wasn’t it fun “tile dreaming” on Saturday?”, he would look at me like I was kooky but that is exactly what we were doing.
While we were wandering through all of the beautiful selection…TE happened upon this pretty marble mosaic with gold/bronze circles as the center of the tile. He said, “Hey, I like this”. Oh, fab…I thought. TE is way into design (awesome to have a guy who actually likes design) but whenever I dawdle too much in one area of showroom or store he takes off exploring at break neck speeds…so it was nice that he was pausing to look at something and wanted to call me over.
I came around the bend and saw this lovely carved floral marble mosaic on the floor. Swirling flowers in a bas relief repeat. I took off my shoes immediately to feel the tile on my feet. Felt wonderful. Could make a great tile rug (center) in a bathroom. I loved it.
Here is the one thing…while most of the tile we have looked at has ranged from $12-65 per square foot…this lovely bit of tile was over $300 per square foot. TE and I have expensive tile dreams it seems…
Well we can continue to dream and hope that a tile fairy would one day, if we ever needed it, just put 100 square feet of this under our pillow! Sweet tile dreams indeed.

What do you think of this dream tile…is this a dream to you or not?
Happy Thursday!

Gorgeous.
That is exactly what my husband and I are going through right now. We went into the tile shops with the intention to buy, but all we did was daydream and salivate over the $120+ tiles we saw in the showrooms. For a brief second, I imagined myself walking up to the counter and saying “well take it!”; we’ll fit it into our budget. But, no, a dream is a dream. We’ll stick to our $12-$40 budget. LOL!
