3 Timeless Bathroom Designs With A Twist To Inspire Your Bathroom Makeover

June 27, 2023
  • Share

Since I started to design my COCOCOZY x Welspun collection, I started thinking about different bathroom styles. Did you know the most common bathroom style is a full bath layout? According to the BHG, a 9×5-foot bathroom is one of the most popular designs in a home. So when it comes to designing a bathroom it’s important to incorporate timeless details that also emulate your personal style. My aesthetic for the COCOCOZY Design House was clean and timeless. However, I know that’s not everyone else’s design style. So I went on the hunt to find different interior designers’ take on a timeless primary bathroom design. I spent a few days scrolling the internet and Instagram to find unique bathroom designs that have timeless elements.

Coastal Chic Bathroom

Inspired by the breathtaking coastal beauty of Southhamptons, this primary bathroom design captures the essence of timeless coastal aesthetics with a delightful twist. The featured image showcases an expertly crafted space that effortlessly combines classic elements with a unique charm. Renowned Manhattan-based interior designer, Charlie Ferrer, has masterfully curated this bathroom to evoke a sense of tranquility and sophistication. This bathroom emanates a timeless charm that will be relevant for years to come by blending modern components while remaining faithful to coastal influences.

How To Design A Coastal Bathroom

Designing a coastal bathroom is actually easier than you might think. Simply by blues and whites in the bathroom’s design can create a coastal aesthetic. To make your bathroom look like it was designed by a professional, mix and match warm wooden textures. We usually associate time spent by the ocean with these hues because they are timeless.

French Country Bathroom

Who doesn’t want their bathroom to feel like a French chateu? The next bathroom design is a beautiful green French country bathroom. The design features a beautiful green Toile wallpaper by Oscar de la Renta and vintage antiques. This Dordogne chateau design creates a timeless look by mixing and matching metals and using distressed wood floors.

How To Create A French Country-Style Bathroom?

Transforming your bathroom into a captivating French country oasis doesn’t have to break the bank. With a few creative strategies, you can achieve this charming aesthetic on a budget. Explore local estate sales and flea markets to uncover unique treasures that perfectly embody the French country vibe. Incorporate wicker baskets, a readily available accessory that instantly transports you to the rustic charm of the French countryside. Some key design elements such as an antique wood vanity, distressed wood floors, and delicate floral patterns. Toile accessories, known for their intricate scenes and timeless elegance, lend an authentic touch to your space.

Modern Luxe Bathroom

Everyone dreams of designing a luxe bathroom. London-based designer, Henri Fitz William-lay, created a sophisticated modern bathroom. The space features a timeless deep blue subway tile wall that contrasts with rich custom wood vanity. A modern look that will last for years! It’s a nice change from black and white primary bathrooms.

My Pro Tip For Planning A Bathroom Design

Designing a bathroom, regardless if it’s a primary bathroom or powder room, is an overwhelming task. One key tip that I want to share with anyone who is thinking about renovating their bathroom is to prioritize your lighting during the planning stage. Bathroom lighting has a huge impact on the final look. If you choose the wrong light fixture at the end of the design process it can throw the whole room off. Find a fabulous light fixture during the early stage that way you won’t be disappointed once the renovating project comes to an end.

My Favorite Brands To Shop Bathroom Lighting

Visual Comfort – High-End chandeliers and pendant lights.

Soho Home – Unique modern sconces.

Overstock – Modern chandeliers, table lamps, and floor lamps.

Pottery Barn – Stylish pendant lights and sconces.

Designing timeless bathroom designs isn’t always an easy process. Share your worst decorating experience. Did you pick the wrong tile? Did you have a plumbing issue? Share in the comments.

Xo,

Coco

That level of control is what makes the result so specific. Rich materials, sculptural forms, cinematic lighting but nothing feels decorative for its own sake. Every detail was considered as part of one complete vision, and you feel it in every room. ✨

This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a French interior designer and architect, Nathan Litera @nathanlitera is a beautiful reminder that good design isn’t about replacing the past, but learning how to live with it. You see it in the preserved millwork, the original fireplaces, the parquet floors, and then in the quiet contrast of contemporary lighting, cleaner silhouettes, and restrained color.
The magic is in the balance. The newer pieces don’t compete with the architecture. They feel intentional, calm, and completely at ease. Nothing is overly styled. Nothing distracts. History stays front and center while the space still feels entirely livable today.
Here’s how to bring that same feeling into your own home:
* Keep your base timeless — neutral walls, classic materials, architectural details if you have them
* Let contrast do the work — modern lighting or furniture against traditional bones instantly updates a space
* Edit your palette — keep colors within a tight range and let texture and form do the talking
* Invest in materials — marble, wood, plaster. They age beautifully and never feel out of place
It’s not about recreating a château. It’s about understanding the feeling that quiet kind of luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.
Save this for when you want your space to feel layered, timeless, and truly considered. ✨

Sharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. ESharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. Every day for the last few months has been the greatest day ever here. Even days that are not event filled feel special in Paris.
Started with French class on this day. I was taking classes at L'Alliance Français because living here means actually trying to belong here and speak the language.
Then off to the Hôtel de Crillon @rosewoodhoteldecrillon ,a historic palace hotel overlooking Place de la Concorde, known for its timeless interiors and quiet kind of luxury, catching up with a friend like it was the most ordinary thing...in extraordinary place.
So even though nothing momentous happened...wanted to show you what my every greatest day life looks like in Paris.
This city keeps surprising me. 🖤
