18 Dreamy Freestanding Bathtubs For The Great Spa-Like Bath At Home

March 9, 2018
  • Share

Stressful times call for a soothing bath. When it comes to home design, I adore freestanding bathtubs. As a rule, I always try to section out time during my busy day to practice self-care — whatever that looks like depending on my schedule. I am NOT a bath girl, but the other day I was inspired to run a warm bath… only to find out that I don’t have a stopper in my bathtub! That should show you how rare it is for me to take a relaxing soak! Note to self (and my Amazon account): purchase a bathtub stopper!

Anyway, I recently visited a home remodel site with a friend of mine and there was an old tub. I adore freestanding bathtubs in new construction. It was a cast iron clawfoot tub. After asking my Instagram followers whether or not the freestanding tub should be salvaged or ditched, most said to keep it!

I think that’s spot on… there’s something so romantic, soothing, and comforting about a good old fashioned (and good looking!) stand-out stand-alone tub.

I’ve gathered some of my favorite freestanding tubs for inspiration (below)!

When rustic meets chic. This elegant bathroom uses a stunning tub and chandelier paired with minimalist decor to create an ambiance that’s simple, sophisticated and oh so Insta-worthy. And can we talk about the outdoor view from that tub?! I’m all about it.

Now that we’re all inspired to unwind with a hot bath, here are some of my favorite essentials for ultimate relaxation (below)!

1. Teak Bathtub Caddy 2. Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Honey Bath 3. Lavender Dot Neck Pillow

4. COCOCOZY Soy Candle 5. Korres Wild Rose & Vitamin C Sleeping Facial

We could all use a night of wine, reading, and face masks, right?

In these often-contentious times, one must take care of themselves in order to brave the day and be a useful and helpful happy member of society.  My solution these days is take a bath (once I get that stopper, of course). What’s yours?

Wishing you peace and stillness.

xo!

Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.
So if you’re planning a Paris trip, don’t fill every hour. Leave room to wander.

I’ve found that working somewhere else can be a nice reset when I’m feeling stuck, uninspired, or just too used to the same routine. It’s not necessarily about being more productive; sometimes it’s just about making the day feel different.
