This is my bedroom at my tiny little cottage in the Hollywood Hills. White bedding, white headboard, light grey/brown custom stained white oak wood floors, white linen drapes. Decided this weekend to take charge of my bedside nightstand situation. Previously, I had some wood shelves on either side of my bed. They were these honey colored wood shelves that I had been pretty much given and just kept by my bed for years. This past weekend, I did some furniture rearranging and put the wood shelves out in the shed and replaced them with this vintage burnished brass and glass tray table I bought at a flee market years and years ago. My new thing lately is all about keeping things simple. So when I put the glass table by my bed I thought…this is a great nightstand but I do not want to clutter it up. So I simply added 4 items to the nightstand 1. My lamp; 2. Swarovski crystal piece of art made by my friend JLF…it is called Crystal Chic. It adds just the right amount of sparkle to wake up to in the morning. 3. White roses – I can’t sleep next to flowers due to allergies…so depending on the rose or the flower, I will always go for something very mildly fragrant or with no fragrance at all. No lilies next to my bed! 4. A dish for jewelry – I needed something small enough to put earrings, necklaces or rings in next to my bedside…I didn’t have box so I used a small white ramekin I had in my kitchen cupboard! I added in a cream and white COCOCOZY Logo throw onto the bed and tahdah…
Next time, will inject a little color into the mix and get your thoughts on that.
Here is my nightstand spruce up!
What do you think? What do you have on your nightstand. How might you spruce it up but keep it simple?
