Classic dining room with a large palm leaf tree, round mahogany stained pedestal dining table, vintage brentwood dinging chairs, a fireplace with carved stone mantel, ornate crown molding, pale blue wallpaper and a vintage light fixture and a capiz shell floor lamp

A classic dining room decorated in a Caribbean style of sorts with a large palm tree gracing the room. A round wood mahogany stained pedestal dining table and dark brown walnut stained vintage bentwood dining chairs are placed within arms reach of a fab fireplace with a carved stone and large wood decorative mirror. The room also features a curved cove area with ornate embossed crown dentil molding, pale blue wallpaper, a vintage glass and brass light fixture and a capiz shell floor lamp. Oh…did I forget to mention the fantastic almost black glossy hardwood floor!(above)

So, last week I had some friends over and actually made dinner…a novelty for me! I think it went well…at least my friends lied to me for a moment and said they enjoyed the meal…listen a lie is good enough for me…at this point, I’ll take any little word of praise I can get!! Anyhoooooooo, got me thinking about eating in and dinner at home. So I found these delightful dining rooms. All places where I would certainly love to entertain family and friends.

Hope you get a bit of inspiration from this!

Simplicity is the order of the day in this dining room. Large white drum pendants lights elegantly hang over a simple long wood farmhouse table that is surrounded by open back bright white wood chairs. Wide plank natural stain pine floors, a wall of french doors and paned windows and a floor to ceiling chalkboard give this space a modern comfy cozy country rustic feel.

The perfect South Hamptons beach house dining space featuring classic French blue and white rattan bistro chairs, a long farm house style rectangular table with a white x-base and grey top, a striking chandelier made of sea shells and a bold striped blue and white rug…a bright and sunny setting for a beachy indoor dining scene. Here is a classically elegant dining area set in an octagonal shaped room in a Georgian style estate here in Los Angeles. Designed by Windsor Smith, this is the ultimate of a modern take on traditional design. Room features rich tan walls, toile print drapery accenting large floor to ceiling French doors and paned windows, classic Queen Anne dining chairs with clever striped seat cushions, a brass lantern pendant light/chandelier hanging from a bright white beamed ceiling and the delicate touch of some white decorative plates placed elegantly on simple bracket wall shelves. Another classic space for entertaining dinner guests at home. This one features a large crystal chandelier as its centerpiece. A glossy dark stain wood table and Queen Anne chairs are surrounded by neutral off white walls and green accents in seat cushions and framed art. (above)

Dining room in a bachelor pad with modern table, square upholstered ottomans and two tiered Murano white glass chandeliers and sheer black drapes

This modern mealtime meeting place was designed for a bachelor in Rome, Italy. Featuring a sleek modern table, square upholstered ottomans or pouffes covered in fabric with a black and white bird scenery pattern, a two tiered Murano style white glass chandelier and sheer black drapes all make for the perfect pad for a single guy living in Rome! Grey dining room with white shadow box shelving, dark brown round wood table surrounded by retro white leather and wood chairs, a blue umbrella style chandelier and velvet cushion on a window seat and a silver 1950s inspired wall sculpture over the fireplace mantel

A pale grey faux finish painted room with large white shadow box shelving is perfection in color coordination. A dark brown round wood table comfortably seats 6 or more and is surrounded by wood and white leather retro looking dining chairs. Blue accents which include an umbrella style chandelier and a blue velvet cushion on a built-in window bench along with a dark brown hardwood floor play well against the greys and whites in the room. A shiny silver metal 1950’s inspired wall sculpture is a striking piece of art above the room’s meticulously modern fireplace and mantel. (above)

Bon apetit!

I love the one by Jeff Andrews Design. The dark sheers really make the room. I’d stop eating in front of the TV if I had a room like that. :o)

A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not overpowering, just enough to warm everything up, walls, upholstery, even the smallest details.
It shifts the mood completely. Calmer, softer, and a little more lived in.
Save this if you’re leaning toward softer, warmer spaces. 🌸

What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so hard to look away from is the deliberate clash Sophie Dries @sophiedries_ created and didn’t try to resolve.
The bones of the apartment are pure Haussmann: ornate cornicing, carved boiserie, a marble fireplace with a gilded mirror. Everything a 19th-century Parisian apartment should be. Then she placed a near-black dining table with brass-legged stools into the middle of it. A raw concrete-look bathroom behind the grandeur. Dark, sculptural objects on surfaces that were built for delicate things.
It works because she didn’t try to blend the two, she let them sit in contrast. The apartment feels lived-in and specific because of it.
→ Save this if you’re mixing old architecture with contemporary furniture.

From classic to modern, rustic to minimal, the pap From classic to modern, rustic to minimal, the paper lantern just fits. It softens the room, diffuses the light, and rounds out even the sharpest architectural edges without demanding any attention. 🏮
Are you into paper lanterns, or do you prefer a more structured statement light? 🧐

Streets of #Paris. 📍 Rue de Castiglione — Laid ouStreets of #Paris. 📍
Rue de Castiglione — Laid out under Napoleon in the early 1800s, this neoclassical street connects Place Vendôme to the Tuileries Garden in one clean, symmetrical line.
Place de Furstenberg — A tucked-away square in Saint-Germain-des-Prés that was once home to the painter Eugène Delacroix, and still feels like little has changed.
Les Antiquaires on Rue du Bac — A street with centuries of history, now best known for its cluster of antique dealers trading in furniture, paintings, and curiosities and home to @les_antiquaires_paris bistro which is an easy spot to grab a bite near the Seine.
Musée du Louvre — Built as a medieval fortress in the 12th century, it became a royal palace, then the world’s most visited museum, home to the Mona Lisa and tens of thousands of other works.
Église Saint-Sulpice — Paris’s second-largest church, with a gnomon installed inside to track the sun’s position and help calculate the liturgical calendar.
Les Deux Magots — The Saint-Germain café where Simone de Beauvoir, Sartre, and Hemingway once gathered, and a lasting symbol of Paris’s literary culture.
Place Vendôme — Commissioned under Louis XIV, this octagonal square is anchored by the Vendôme Column, cast from cannons captured at the Battle of Austerlitz.
Shops, people, and buildings that make you stop for a second and look up. Every corner feels different. Old, detailed, and full of life. Sometimes this is the best part. Just being here. ❤️

Nour Arida’s (@nouraridaofficial) Paris apartment Nour Arida’s (@nouraridaofficial) Paris apartment was designed to feel like a little piece of Beirut — a pied-à-terre that keeps her connected to Lebanon while living in France.
Architect Carl Gerges @carlgergesarchitects built the whole interior around warmth and softness: a caramel sofa, a pink kitchen, milky whites throughout. Nothing sharp, nothing cold. The palette reads as indulgent without trying. It’s the kind of space that feels like it was chosen for comfort first and aesthetics second, even though both are clearly considered.
What’s easy to miss is the restraint underneath it all. The softness works because it’s disciplined. Every piece earns its place in the same tonal story.
→ Save this if you’re building a warm, tonal interior from scratch.
